Actually this is the HEROD ATTICUS ancient ROMAN THEATRE, not the ACROPOLIS which is built at the feet of the Acropolis hill under the temple of the Parthenon.
Great performance nontheless... Kodo drummers are awesome, both visually and aurally.
Amazing, even after I watched this a few times my feet were tapping, my fingers drumming and i felt so motivated, this is for my iPod & the gym. Not that I'll be keeping that pace up though. :-/
These people are wonderful! Their music is full of positive energy, very natural, no electronics, yet exquisitely synchronized, quite uplifting. I had the luck to see them live and was completely surprised. They were not on the bill, and I had never heard of them, but I was hooked after that night.
I wonder if Buddy Rich has ever done a concert with these guys. I would love to have the two types of drums do a concert. It would be great to have him in the middle and have a "chat" with these others. Music is a language.
@kurtilein3 I definitely agree with you there, i bet the sound would be giving me chills, since it looks like they're preforming there in a colosseum shaped theatre.
They perform everywhere, ive seen them in munich twice, the second time i was in the second row. At the "Philharmonie" in Gasteig (name for a building in munich). And yes, you feel the big drums. Its enough to blow out a lighter flame, or a candle, at a distance. And you feel parts of your skeleton.

great video :)
however, i think you have to see them live to appreciate how loud these drums are. the big horizontal drum, you can really feel that one in your guts.
they can perform for thousands of people without any amplification, ive never seen them do a concert that wasnt unplugged and without amplification.
