A whole string of superb pieces spring to mind in addition to this too. Warsaw Concerto, Dream of Olwen, The Last Rhapsody, Bob Docker's Legend, Rhondda Rhapsody etc. I actually believe this mid 20th century string of piano pieces was inspired by Sergei Rachmaninov. Some of them, Addinsell's Warsaw especially, is probably as good, if not better than a Rach. piece.

@knausspiano OK Addinsell better than Rach.?? No matter the merits of the Warsaw Concerto, it is Mickey Mouse music compared to Rachmaninov. Pastiche we call that. Rachmaninov is a towering giant. To compare Addinsell to him is a mindboggling and baffling mind twister. Are you messing with us?

this theme of cornish and olwen's dream were among my favorites since my teenage years.. ahh, warsaw concerto, too plus the nusical background of the kodac film ad in the early 70's.. soo dramatic ha ha ha..
