Sr was a great writer. Jr was ans is a great stage performer. The 3rd. It' s still out. I have issues with him. Some of his stuff is fantastic while other stuff leaves me hateful. He has talent. Yeah, Hank Sr was pretty much the precursor to today's rock stars.

I've read how his road people had to carry extra pants on account of his tendency to piss down his leg from being so drunk. But at that time.. pills were from dr's. So they weren't considered to be drugs. Not in the way pot was. You can start off taking that crap for an innocent bad back and get sucked in. Once again. at that time... it wasn't something people talked about openly.

It's not the right way to do it, but Jesus forgives all who ask for it; except those who use their shortcomings as a stumbling block to keep others from Christianity. We're imperfect beings + while the churches today may teach otherwise, the Bible would say that as long as he's trying to do right, he's doing what God asks. Please excuse the spelling I meant to type Christian. ALSO, the reason they wouldn't invite him back to the Grand Ole Opry was primarily based on his lyrics. Back then they looked down their nose at any song havin to do with Honky Tonks, Whores, Drunks, etc. The Grand Ole Opry was a FAMILY SHOW, and back then TV's weren't in all homes yet, Only the rich people had em. Until the late 50's, the whole family sat around the radio to hear The Grand Ole Opry Show, and it had to be rated G.
