  • My friend I must tell, I'll have to use the audio of this video for an animation, and that's why I shall thank you, because without this video, maybe my animation would be incomplete. Thanks a lot again.

  • The night launches do look different from the daytime launches, the shuttle just lights the sky up brilliantly.

  • All these damn day launches...

I'm jonesin' for another night one.

  • The Orbiter Access Arm with the White Room at the end of it--think of it as the tunnel you walk in at Gate H-10 or whatever and its goes up to the side of the airplane. It has to be retracted to clear the way for launch if there is an emergency it can be put back at the hatch in about 15-20 seconds.

  • what is the white room at the very beggining of this video?

did they say something about retraction of the orbiter

    access arm?

  • Its actually called the "white room", and is located at the end of the orbiter access arm. Its where the astronauts are prepared before entering the shuttle.

  • realy????

  • Fuglesang was Swedish and Norwegian. He study at KTH in Stockholm/Sweden.

  • I saw this live. :)

  • wow.

  • Better than my crappy footage!

  • *g*

I was rather late posting, so I tried not to duplicate, and pick the best launch footage.

  • WOW! Thanks!

  • Night launches are spectacular !

  • this actual flight carried our first norwegian to space, Christer Fuglesang. Double-great to watch for me.:)
