Is there some way to get rid of the bounding box that mars both of these? You can see the fluid bounce off of an invisible "roof" once it reaches a certain height, which mars the credibility of the effect? I've seen the same thing in all the other fluid tests I've watched so far.
@luxorizy Thanks for pointing that out. I assumed that this was necessary/desirable for rendering purposes. Still, it would make sense either to crop the camera so that the edge is not visible, and/or adjust the model's parameters to ensure that particles hitting the walls do no become too obvious.
@Ninja6317 cool, click on your domain and on the fluid tab there will be a side-scrolling bar under your "req. bake mem." and it will say resolution. it is default at 50 and you can make it higher or lower.
@Ninja6317 It will only change the resolution of the RENDER you will still see it as 25 resolution in the 3D viewport unless you make the preview resolution higher, which is not recommended because the bake will take much longer.
i didnt even know 300 was a resolution. . .

System specs?
Straften 3 months ago
@Straften amd athlon dual core 2.9GHz, nVidia 9800GT, 2gb RAM DDR2 at the time of these renders

Why do video games not have this.
SuperBspb 3 months ago
@SuperBspb Because rendering this in real time would take ages and create massive lag.
Too CPU heavy and again, it takes ages to bake this, in other words to simulate it, rendering isnt too bad, however it would create a lot of lag.
LifeRunner4000 3 months ago
@SuperBspb Because they will lag, and a lot

OckhamDeRazor 6 months ago
@OckhamDeRazor in reality, no. But you can make it large enough to the point where it will not collide with the liquids.
sambetty123 6 months ago
@sambetty123 Thanks. That's what I needed to know!
OckhamDeRazor 6 months ago
@OckhamDeRazor When you use such a box you can eliminate the other particles that are not longer visible. That makes the baking a lot faster.

sambetty123 2 years ago
first one and srry for for such a long response too
irock1445 2 years ago
just have s sphere of water drop into a pool of water
sambetty123 2 years ago
huh? my render time is waaaaay slower than my bake time :S why's that?
Tjechi 2 years ago
baqke is the same for everybodies computer... pretty slow, but your settings and graphics card make it render faster
sambetty123 2 years ago
if you want to stop the crashes u have to lesson ur particle system either that or u cant subsurf more then 3 times in your modifier
blender2k9 3 years ago
What are your Computer specs? I can't render to much above the standard and I'm not using a low end PC.
ImbecilicProductions 3 years ago
it crashes for no apparent reason, also what video file to you render to?
ImbecilicProductions 3 years ago
2gig ram, core duo pross. ati readon g-card, umm,its a custom built cpu though, so it is pretty tricked out.
sambetty123 3 years ago
That's odd, I have 4GB of RAM, Core 2 Quad. An ATI card although it doesn't matter... it must be an error with my computer then.
ImbecilicProductions 3 years ago
when you bake it does it say "runtime error"?
sambetty123 3 years ago
Yes, exactly. Have you received the same error message?
ImbecilicProductions 3 years ago
yes, i dont know how to fix it, but i reinstalled, and it still didnt work, but randomly, it started working again
sambetty123 3 years ago
That's odd, right now I'm doing a larger render, so it may have randomly fixed itself. Why don't you do Ray Mirror or Ray Transp?
ImbecilicProductions 3 years ago
well, i was going to, bit it is a lot faster to render without, and i couldnt get it to look perfectly like water
sambetty123 3 years ago
Oh, it seems to work every time for me....It may be because it different in the render than in the preview box...render times go way up though..
