The harder the sole of the shoe , the better the transfer of forces from the ground reaction into the thrower's body. Out of that for rotational events , hard soles will increase the speed of the rotation and make it easier with less forces lost into friction.

Why is there so much switching between throwing shoes and sneakers? Is it just the athletes preference of does it have to do with the drill?
