the glitchyness is from youtube encoding the video as it uploaded for some reason - the original video is pretty good quality. It's cheaper than the ContourHD or goproHD camera's - if you're not that bothered about recording in HD then it'sa great little setup, VERY compact and versatile - I've got the recorder & camera mounted to the windscreen of my car as I commute 70 miles a day and there's lots of idiots on the roads.. Definitely recommended by me :)
@paulthe6th Youtube is really sensitive as to how the video is rendered out on your computer. To get a format that I was happy with I cut a 10 second clip from a random video I made with my setup and rendered it in all different formats. Things to play with are the resolution, codec, bit rate etc.
eyup scott, cheers mate feel like a bit of a berk posting it but if it helps someone else come to a decision a bit quicker then it's all good... Was really tempted by a contourHD but can't see the point in HD just yet - maybe next year (multi-angle videos using this one and Contour? fwoar...)
@paulthe6th I've been tempted by both the ContourHD and GoPro HD units. But the major let down for me is they both have built in mics. Not much good if you use them on a motorbike.
Instead of buying HD equipment you could cheat a little with your existing gear. My setup records at 576x720 (or something like that) but I render it at 1280x720 to make the end video 720p. I personally don't think they look too bad.
I'm a Sony Vegas 7 man myself. Took a while to learn but glad that I did.
The corrupt at the start of the video... was it from the camera itself or Youtube rendering issue?
Is it worth buying? I am considering one.
