Underwater hockey leaves players breathless

Awsome sport for fitness. It's rough and hard going. Try sprinting 50m while holding your breath and getting beaten up. I recommend having a go at it before you commit to a neg comment. As far I know the sport started with Navy divers as a form of tough fitness. Good fun.

@MoneyMaloney The "Helmets" are water polo caps to protect your eardrums from being damaged if you get kicked in the head. The gloves protect your knuckles from being hit by the puck, sticks, and from dragging on the tiles as you push the puck. The proper goal is like an eaves trough, along a back wall.

This is actually really hard. We play it sometimes in swimming (maybe twice a season) but we use our hands and a couple of bricks a pucks. You have to get the puck to the other end of the pool to score. Except our team has about 70 people so it hurts if you're at the bottom of a pile for the puck xD

Playing underwater hockey without gloves and cap for ear protection is extremely dangerous. Ruptured ear drum is frequent injury even with all proper protection. Playing without gloves is just ridiculous because you are rubbing your hand on the bottom and if someone hits you your nerves will open your hand which will result in losing your stick and pack control.

We have a team in our town, fun sport, and it does leave you breathless if your the one striking, and you don't have good lung capacity. Some of the players on my team are a good 15 year veterans of the sport, as I've only been playing for about 9 months now, and loving it!
