  • this is like montage music in the wintertime and its snowing

  • Only thing missing here is me puffin' a big cigar.

  • This must be the Stormy Weather version of Ain't Misbehavin. Where at 2:21, you can clearly SEE Fats plays descending octaves V, IV, III, II, I - in Eb.

  • This is how you make your life better: Go light your cigarette then sit by your window and look at the moon listening to this great music. I know this works for me :) hope it does for you to.

  • 78 rpm- the way to go!

  • what album is this off of? I have the instrumental off his "Fats" Waller and His Rhythm "Ain't Misbehavin'" album, but would love this version on vinyl as well!

  • On a side note my instructor just showed me how to play this on a guitar in the key of G

  • @Starshnizzle Its in Eflat!

  • @Rumil20 Actually it's in Cmajor and it sounds waaaaay cooler in the key of G on guitar...

  • @Starshnizzle Im sorry, but I play piano, and I can hear.

This song... (how its played in this video) is in E flat.

    truuuuust me :)

    but anyway, guitar cool

  • @Rumil20 Nope... I have to disagree I play piano as well and it is most certainly in the key of C... I guess unless an expert comes in (for we cant rely on each others word over the internet) We will have to disagree.

  • @Starshnizzle

    Definitely Eb.

  • AWESOME RECORDING!!! scratch -free-clear-BEAUTIFULL..THANK YOU!!!

  • I killed myself and I still listen to this music

  • if you listen to this on your own and you're under 18 then you are officially cool.

  • なんてオチャメで素敵だったんでしょうネ!~ファッツ・ウォーラー~"AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'"(浮気はやめた)、ジョニ・ジェームスの歌も可愛いかった!#jazzm

  • @blackandtanful I couldn't agree more!

  • I've listened to this song a good 10 times on repeat today. It's just so damn good.

  • Oh how I wish I could play like him!

(I never will, but please check out my songs on here anyway if you've a minute.)

  • Cab Calloway, frank Sinatra, louis Armstrong, duke Ellington, fats Waller. Greatest singers/ performers of all time

  • I'm learning how to play this in Jazz band (: I'm so glad to play piano ♥

  • つい先日この曲を初めて聞いて、なぜか号泣してしまいました

    最高過ぎます

    一生聴きつづけます

  • Imagine listening to this while being in your car and going home from work during the dust. in the car it is warm while it's cold like ice outside... that's when I was listening to this the first time, by accident. I can't tell you how It flew into my veins and calmed me down. ;) Simply love it

  • @FilmComposeRaHoppe # dusk...

  • A love for jazz and this song brought me here

  • FFSTV brought me here

  • This is a beautiful song.

  • Be Kind, Rewind led me here lol

  • this song is great... I bought it on iTunes :)

  • XM Radio brought me here :D

  • I love the bit at 1:06

  • I hate to be "That Guy" but...

Video Games Awesome led me here

  • Haha my friend is telling me that jazz is "old people music", yet I am 16 years old and listening to it makes me feel happy and content, like when I was a little kid. Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller, and Benny Goodman... I love you <3

  • @fbellugio Just remember good music is in the ear of the listener and the age of piece has nothing to do with the appreciation and joy one can feel for it. If that were the case Mozart's music would have died in the 1800's!

  • @fbellugio jazz is reality without the pretentiousness of money covering it.

  • i heard some recordings fats did they were call v disks for the troop of ww2 and fats said i don't want $ just give me 2 bottles scotch and after the 2nd bottle he was pretty loose

  • Ahhh thats just so good.

  • what a wonderfull music, sound and performance (((((wow))))) and FatsWallers interpretation is just first class as always he does. mmmm m :p

Thats sound, thats music. Tnx 4 uplouding.

  • thumbs up if be kind rewind sent you here

  • @bockan14 why would anyone care if someone gets to a song because of that?

  • Starts out as the standard tune. Love it at 2:45 when they break into that great swinging arrangement and then finish that is kind of bawdy. Love it all.

Fats Waller was one of a kind.

    Thanks for posting.

  • His touch on the piano is just brilliant. Someone mentioned champagne, well only a few drops then !

  • the BEST jazz song and best jazzmen ever! <3 R.I.P

  • Anyone know where I could get this sheet music? Free or not

  • His touch was amazing! so light and elegant like champagne. If anyone is interested i have about 25 transcriptions of his performances. This man was a brilliant musician. He could do anything. He was an accomplished organist playing to silent films while still in his teens and studying for a short time with Leopold Godowsky. the clarity and eveness of his passage-work is breath-taking.

  • Im a fetus and i listen to this music

  • @MrClydekewl IoI I see what you did there

  • @MrClydekewl

I'm actually dead, so what ? I listen to Fats just as anybody here, and I cheer it up with my bone hands !

  • @MrClydekewl thats the best one iv'e heard, hahaha

  • @MrClydekewl <3

  • @MrClydekewl : i feel ya, that's me too!!! and i've been waitin for someone on youtube to say it like that. Not so square or proud bout it neither.

  • I'd like to misbehave to this song....

  • I'm 14 haha here for my grandad...

  • shut up fools, im 3 years old and I like this music. BETA DAN ALL O YALLS.

  • O g

  • no i win im 15

  • @auramelissa1 i just turned 15 a few days ago, so i win

  • @MrSister127 im 11 actually

  • Waller's handspan reached from C to the G above the next C.

  • @kevinastraw Mine hardly reaches the next E...

  • I think I am the younger here ( I am 18) lol

  • @vmet I'm 17, I win.

  • @vmet Nope! I'm 17, haha :)

  • my kind of man

  • excellent quality.I am back in day

  • How the hell did this guy manipulate those superb cascades and trills with fingers that looked like a couple of pounds of sausages. True genius.

  • Check out the rising star Mylie Taylor doing her version of Ain't Misbehavin' , amazing !

  • Amazing!

  • where can i buy an exact transcription of the piano music?

  • Not only a great tune, but brilliantly arranged. Not over-ornamented, but a clean, elegant, classy, and irresistibly charming work of art.

  • fun fact: This was written in a whorehouse to be played while women were "serving" their customers

  • Besides Waller, the trombone is fucking awesome.

  • This music reminds me of watching Bug Bunny cartoons on Saturday morning in the 1960's.

  • ugg just tried practicing my jazz peice with this until i realized they wre in completly different keys

    (i play trumpet)

  • The photo behind Mr. Waller.....is that James Reece Europe?

  • @customkey

i was thinkin the same thing

  • Man this is a recording that prooves that the equipment they had back in the 30's and 40's had very good quality, what a crystal clear sound

I love Fats Waller and his great music, too bad he died so early

  • through out the rap and bring in the jazz and blues

  • I guess 2 people were misbehavin'

  • @racergirlmere i guess 1 person needs a life

  • @racergirlmere Make that 5.

  • @racergirlmere Now they're 5 :)

  • who would name their kid "FATS"? =/

  • @TheFlutification Fats is just a nickname. His real name is Thomas Wright Waller, so nobody named their child fats. You can at least try to do some research (or use your brain)

  • @nielsheur oh lol okay. i was weirded out for a sec ;)

  • @TheFlutification That's just a nickname. His real name was actually Thomas

  • @TheFlutification its a nickname

  • Jazzmusik når det er bedst. Jeg ville ønske, vi havde ham her i dag.

  • @premo106 samme her han er utroligt god

  • AABA or 12 bar blues ????

  • @Bethflower123 aaba

  • Weren't they hell of musicians, him with his playing and writing and Nat Cole with his playing and singing ? Grrreat

  • RIP HERMAN

  • And with Benny Carter on the trumpet! some of the best stuff Fats ever did.

  • Ugg tried to play along with trumpet and then I forgot it is in a completly different key lol

  • I love Fats. There was nobody like him. The songs are great and his little smart-ass comments are funny as hell. Too bad he died so young.

  • thats what ya call a timeless classic

  • Comment removed

  • @dinnerpianist problem with you're theory- his songs are the ultimate. like if you agree.

  • @dinnerpianist shut up. we think what we want to think. Got it?

  • If Fats Waller is an inspiration, then just who inspired Fats?

  • @punknol joe king oliver?

  • @adulby thks. I'll try him on the web!

  • 1 person is misbehavin! FUCK

  • There are harmonic glitches but if Fats were alive today he'd clear them up. I do this tune but have had a hell of a time in "cleaning" it up. Nice tune and it's been "enhanced" for over 90 years! The closing has it down!!!!

  • @dinnerpianist

"Harmonic glitches"? You've got to kidding! When YOU come up with something that wonderful and genius on your own, then maybe...maybe you can point out something like that. But any true lover of music will know that the slight "imperfections" are what make it truly unique and special. Otherwise, the sound would be too "sterile"...might as well have made it using computer-generated music.

  • I remember back in middle school Jazz Band being late for class one day and everyone was playing this as I was getting my trumpet ready. Since my locker was next to where the teacher was instructing she heard me sing this to myself. She had me sing this at the next concert we had in front of the whole school. Good Times, good times. I wasn't anywhere near Fats' charisma but it sounded all right.

  • Whoever disliked this video blows

  • It's so beautiful and soothing

  • Fats weighs 225lbs. By today's standards, that isn't even very fat!

  • @Koolaidrulz21 I think that the "Fats" part is a sign of respect for someone who is a master of smooth and cool.

  • @celticgaurdian1400 i never said it wasn't, and i completely agree

  • @Koolaidrulz21 absolutly wrong,Fats weight 300 pounds.

  • @Pentagonshark666 he probably did reach 300 at one point, or someone could have just rounded the number. i got the number 225 when i was listening to one of his songs. i forget if it was here or on grooveshark, but he said something about being 225 before he started playing. regardless of weight, Fats rules

  • i want the music sheet !

  • Its is a great shame that they can't produce great music like this these days, instead of the 2 minute wonder garbage that is churned out

  • Great song <3 I wish I would know more songs like this

  • 70,000 views? WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!???????????, THERE SHOULD BE 1,000,000 BILLIONS VIEWS, I SWEAR US BLACKS NEED TO GO BACK TO OUR ROOTS, CAUSE RIGHT NOW WE DON'T KNOW WHAT JAZZ IS.

  • @SegaGuy7 you said it, my friend.

  • @SegaGuy7 This song has "white" all over it, though it was written by two black men and one white - though if you culturally equate Waller from the USA and Rafaz from Africa - you are more racist than I thought! It was really written by three men, whose skin colour is irrelevant.

  • Wonderful- great arrangement and Waller's brilliance at the key board.

Too bad he wouldn't have been able to come through the front door of the places he played.

  • Wow! Im just begining my piano jazz career and had to audtion on this piece for my school jazz band, and now i have fallen in love with his jazz style and im inspiered by him!

  • One person is a retard.

  • This song should be used for Fallout 4.

  • @DaUziel I agree, this song's feeling would fit well with Fallout's gloomy, yet humorous atmosphere.

  • i bet the guy who disliked did it by accident :D

  • so he sings here? great!

  • I know I'm older and shite but this, this makes me feel timeless...

Thank you so much for this!

  • @barrywilliamsmb are you really shite, Barry?

  • @PetrusRuppert

    Sir, I resemble that remark!

  • I LOVE this song!!! And Fats was definately the greatest. Check out Nat King Cole(the silken voice) doing it. It's wonderful... ; )

  • i heard al capone listened to fats waller

  • @screamit1 He also really liked Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. He wasn't really the goon the movies made him out to be. Forget about the actors who played him.

  • @screamit1 Actually, Al Capone KIDNAPPED Fats Waller.

  • @DaUziel Where did he take him?

  • @PetrusRuppert Al Capone's birthday party, where he played for about two days as the lead musician.

  • J'adore

  • hes a troly awesome dude :D:D:D:D::D:D:D:D:D:D

    totely my new hero!

  • Beautiful, love that piano!

  • Should of added some of Fats songs in Fallout 3 one of the best Fallout's.

  • I listen to this song at least once day, truly amazing pianist.

  • is there another version made by fats waller?

  • @reyzaguirr yes

  • Thank you StrawberryFairyShoes for these priceless recordings! Please keep posting recordings by Fats and other extraordinary piano legends.

  • Mr Waller was sublime. If you don't like this you must be dead in side!

  • @GJS666 seconded

  • Thanks StrawberryFairyShoes, I had this 12 inch 78 once, I have been searching for this version for years. It's my favourite Fats Waller tune of all time.

  • Great song. Singing an arrangement of it (by Peter Gritton) for SATB choir in the UK (Sussex) this weekend.

  • FATS WALLER empieza tocando el piano Desde el minuto 1:28 el propio FATS WALLER canta el tema y desde el minuto 2:43 el grupo se anima y entra en una especie deborrachera de sonido.

  • well considering hes dead i dont think he relizes it

  • I love everybodies version of this...love sarah vaughan's

  • Maybe his most beutiful song.

  • thank you so much for uploading this! :D

The recording is so smooth to hear. :>

  • Pure delight <3

  • I'm doing a research project on the Harlem Renassance* and I choose Fats Waller as my person. He made really good muzicc I like this whole jazz stuff makes people relax and stuff. Fats Waller was a baller no doubt. Thanks for uploading such a wonderful song

  • what school are you in? me to and i'm in carver

  • @DTFxR03P0GN4RMY I read somewhere that he got held up at gunpoint leavin a show and got brought to one of Al Capone's spots during prohibition back in the day. Turns out he was the guest of honor at Al Capone's birthday party and played piano for three days straight, KICKIN IT. Guess he made a pretty penny doin it, too, afterwards. "Because I'm a gangsta, havin' fun."
