idk, it seems they are assuming that there will always be a lot of players at almost all the group event areas, which I do not see how they could make it so. I mean, let's say wow, when a server is up for say a year or two, most of the population will be level cap enjoying endgame, there will rarely be any people in the non-endgame areas, so yeah. how could they keep a healthy amount of population at all these group events areas a few months after servers go online would seem to be a problem.
@vasimre42 that's why the put your level down to a more apropriate level for the zone you're currently in and i'm not sure if those world bosses directly give away gear. But with that system every area will basically feel like an endgame area :)
@vasimre42 The replayability of the levelling experience in GW2 will be completely different from that of WoW so you will see a lot of people in the other zones.
I hope this game isn't that easy and actually require some skilled and experienced people to defeat certain bosses. Or the game will get boring sooner or later.
from what i hav seen so far, looks like shields are an appropriate size(unlike wow), the animations dont suck(unlike wow), and my female human warrior wont have the handle of her two-hander sticking through her left leg(unlike wow)

@1snakelover For now they are doing a version only for windows, not for any other platform, and that includes onlive. However, they are open for porting to other platforms later. But for now - no such immediate plans. However, GW2 will run on mid-range machines, you won't need a monster to run it.

@SagelikeOne On the Guild Wars 2 site it does say that it will run great on mid-range pc's, but I'm thinking they are referring to by today's standards. If your pc can barely run WoW or run it okay then you probably can't play it. If you can play WoW with full ultra settings and hardly see a drop in framerate then I would say you'd be pretty well off.

The game runs on ActiveX 9-level, and that is way back, so if you can run WoW decently then you should be able to run GW2. We're not talking brand new machine, only cheap, here, we are talking machines a few years old as well.

I need someone to clarify please, I know that the first 5 skills change depending on what weapon set you have but does that mean example all guardians that have a staff equipped have the same 5 skills? If that's the case then builds in GW2 will be generic
@danii090 Yes and no. While the first five skills are the same for everyone of a given profession with that weapon (all staff guardians have the same five skills) there are more ways to customize. A big part of the game is choosing two weapon sets, so while one guardian may have a staff, a sword and a shield another could have a hammer, mace and torch. In addition to this through a system called traits (perks basically) skills can be modified drastically.
@danii090 The left-hand bar will be weapon-dependant, but the right-hand bar will be fully customizable, with unlockable powers and interesting things. So no, all staff-wielding guardians will NOT be the same way, just the left-hand actions will be the same. Also - hot-swapping weaponsets give you access to another five powers to be shifted to when the situation calls for it.
That scale-thingy, when it comes to dynamic events... Trust me, the first 3 months will be chaotic. Can you imagine how many ghost waves there'll be because of the amount of players? OTL
@Jetaemin They might split the tutorial-level into "channels" to stave that, otherwise it might get REALLY interesting when the events scale to 100 new characters, and spawn 400 ghosts...
@SagelikeOne For a guy who acts like he knows everything about the game you are missing some pretty basic information. Most relevant right now is that the tutorial events are locked at about ten players and has no need to scale any higher than that. Those tutorial exit events happen in blocked off areas of the map that players are escorted to in groups every couple of minutes. You don’t get to the truly open “scales to a hundred people” events until AFTER the tutorial zone.

I didn't know the events were locked, only that they were fast-respawns, limiting the number of people that way - but I figured that if people actually show up it would scale. It would be interesting to have people line up outside the garrison of the hum zone and then just pile in - 40 men/women blazing away!

@ZombieSniper64 Energy is the bar over the right-hand actionbar and you use it when you dodge. You regain it by... well, not dodging. It is to balance offensive play with defensive play, particularly in bossfights and PvP. But there is still no Mana or anything like that, just a controlmarker for defensive play.

@Pocco20 they are not stealing ideas from other games, they're just using some cool aspects of other games, i don't see any harm in that. They actually used various ideas from various games, like the down system from borderlands, and they publicly said so.
Allegedly the release date was leaked. Now there is no reason to believe this, especially given what Arena Net themselves have said regarding a release date, BUT………February 5th 2012. Again, not official and I personally don’t believe it because Anet said they won’t decide on a release date until after beta, but I though some of you may be interested.

Pissed mah pants the first time I saw the dragon Dynamic Event. The way he comes flying out of water, up on hill and then comes crashing down. When its day you can even see it swimming under the water. Most epic when there is a thunderstorm though. (Id like to note Collin said once (i didn't watch this whole vid; sry if was said) that thats one of the "small dragons" lol.
@Jokzore Of course that will happen at first, but the way the system is set up those slackers will soon learn that they are getting the lowest rewards. GW2 is anti-grind, anti-grief and anti-leech.

Arena Net has spent millions (allegedly) on outdated graphics card to develop Guild Wars 2 on lower end hardware. They have said that their goal is to have GW2 play on any “existing mid-range PC” and have even said that if you can play GW1 on max graphics settings then you WILL be able to play GW2. Please thumb up this post so more people can see and stop asking that same question.

@ZombieSniper64 Energy is the bar over the right-hand actionbar and you use it when you dodge. You regain it by... well, not dodging. It is to balance offensive play with defensive play, particularly in bossfights and PvP. But there is still no Mana or anything like that, just a controlmarker for defensive play.

@SKILLErElvurn We have not seen any speccs yet, so it would be guesswork, but the line from Arenanet goes something along the lines of "if you can play wow on it, you can play GW2 on it." As soon as we have more info on speccs I will post a clip about it on my channel, promise.

Allegedly the release date was leaked. Now there is no reason to believe this, especially given what Arena Net themselves have said regarding a release date, BUT………February 5th 2012. Again, not official and I personally don’t believe it because Anet said they won’t decide on a release date until after beta, but I though some of you may be interested.

Sorry. I mean it MIGHT launch on that date, but that would be pure luck. They can't announce since they don't have the feedback they need yet.

Pissed mah pants the first time I saw the dragon Dynamic Event. The way he comes flying out of water, up on hill and then comes crashing down. When its day you can even see it swimming under the water. Most epic when there is a thunderstorm though. (Id like to note Collin said once (i didn't watch this whole vid; sry if was said) that thats one of the "small dragons" lol.

Arena Net has spent millions (allegedly) on outdated graphics card to develop Guild Wars 2 on lower end hardware. They have said that their goal is to have GW2 play on any “existing mid-range PC” and have even said that if you can play GW1 on max graphics settings then you WILL be able to play GW2. Please thumb up this post so more people can see and stop asking that same question.
