Ok, listen up! The only reason phish even did these covers was because they got the chance to play two genesis songs FOR GENESIS at the rock and roll hall of fame! Is it perfect? Maybe not, but Trey was very enthusiastic about how much he appreciated Genesis for inspiring his own music. I love Genesis and I LOVE PHISH! These covers are SO SPECIAL!! I'm incredibly happy that this took place- It's a dream come true. I still wish I could have picked which song they played (Land of Confusion)
Love Genesis and I especially love the Phish boys. But I have to admit that this was a very poor cover. Exposes Trey's limitations as a vocalist and the song takes away the band's overall ability to get nasty. Kind of embarrassing on a big stage if you ask me. But don't worry, big loves anyhow.
never heard this song (not a big post gabriel genesis fan) but i can't imagine it sounding any worse than the actual version. even though i do like phish, i'm one of the first to tell you i'm not in love with trey's voice. this really isn't terrible though.
