The UK's main roll in Desert Shield/Storm was artillery, providing support to the USA's 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions who lead the way in the opening engagement of the Gulf War, in the Battle of Khafji. The U.K. is the strongest United States allie. They are fighting in Afghanistan with the USA.

My dad was in desert storm... Still has the goggles covered in sand and a head wrap from the prince of saudi arabia.. He lso has rifle rounds sombody shot at him while he was driving a truck. He also has some SMG magasines that he had used to kill people with. Serious stuff is you ask me. So all the people who act like it's no big deal can go play with their barbie dolls and file complaints with PETA about some random "Animal Cruelty" they find on the web...

@RamizKatawazi The thing is the iraqis fought a straight up war. The Taliban doesn't fight straight up battles. They send in suicide bombers and set up car bombs on soldiers and civilians alike. Plus, we're not at war with a country, we're at war with a group, so we can't just blow up their bases and bomb factories like we're used to. Our military has no way to deal with this, since we've never fought like this before. Give us some time and we'll figure out a way to win, though.

One of the best military operations I ever seen...I remember days before the initial attack,word on the news was that the coalition would be attacking from seaward vessels on to the shores of the gulf,this news ultimately prompted Iraq to stack the coast with troops and unknowingly falling into the trap...While the coast was loaded with enemy soldiers,the Allies (America) flew over iraq bombing bridges and roadways to prevent anyone from leaving and any supplies from getting delivered..
