This is not a video of your "home theater", it's a video OF a video, very lame. What speakers are you using? Are they junk, so you're afraid of showing us them? lol
You have a very nice room I wish I had as much space I would have made mine bigger my prob when I painted I did not open the pic up wide enough but I'm good even though. Enjoy your room! don't let any body try n play you because it's very nice later!
I used screen paint also but I got mine from DIYTHEATER . Com Same thing with the gain and all I made mine 105" but put a raised coushin black n white zebra border around it. Screen paint is so worth it don't sleep people!
I now have over 100 hours on my projector playing halo and watching hd and regular DVD's. I could not be happier. I am currently displaying it with a 84" diagonal. It's awesome! I can tell a resolution difference between it and my neighbor's 1080p LCD, but the picture quality when objects move on the screen is far superior on my projector. Watching his is like watching a florescent lightbulb flicker sometimes... gives me a headache. Plus mine cost 1/3 what is did.
I think people are just mad that you can have a 120" screen from a projector that costs as much as their 40" LCD. I've been debating, and an $800, benq, 720p projetor is the best bang for my buck. I don't particularly care about 1080p... and can't afford to spend 1000+ on a TV... and I"ll be getting a 90" screen out of this... so screw LCD and plasma TVs
Yeah I know what you mean. Basically a progection tv is a projector inside a box that projecting on a screen. Its the same thing except your not confined to just a 40 or 50" screen. And its just a clear as a $2000 or $3000 HDTV. 720p is fine for HD, its not full hd but its still hd, also I heard that when your watching fast moving images 720 responds a lot faster. I say go for it. I now have about 700 hours on mine and its still bright and clear.
Usually around $200 for a bulb. But, if you control the light in the room, and run it at one of the lower settings, you should have 2000 - 3000 hours on a bulb. If you watched 3 hours per day for a year, you'd only use about 1000 hours. Depending on how much you use it, you could go 3 - 5 years before you need a bulb...
U can buy a piece of white melamite 4 x8 board and have it cut to 19/19 at Home Depot or such for about $12. Tack nail it on your wall with a black tape margin and you have the best (and simplest) screen.
That is simple to do but I had a glass window on that wall and the board wouldnt have been flat on the wall. So I just got three sheets of dry wall and framed a second wall over the one with the window and painted the screen onto it.
Im sorry to tell you this but Projectors will never take over Plasma and LCD , You fail to mention that on a projector the Bulbs will Blow after alot of use , Also they Cost well over 100.00 uk pounds for the best one that give you good Picture ! So its not a good choice ,
If your Rich and have money to waste and have massive space then projector maybe for u :)
The lifetime of a bulb is about 1000-1500 hours. After that the light ouput is to low. Do you have any idea how many movies you can watch? And how many years that will take if you watch a movie everyday? In that time you have already bought youself a new projector. For regular television an projector isn't a good idea but for movies it's great
you would probably get about a years worth of watching every day but there is no point to that as it would lose its effect. best keepin it for movies at the weekend. i bought one for £799. the bulbs are only £110 for mine. best buy i have ever made. buy one if you have the space.
-jasonsony735- But DLP projectors are not subject to burn-in like plasma and LCD...Yes, LCD panels are subject to it as well. A DLP will provide years and years of consistent color and brightness where as plasma and LCD will not. I know, because I repair commercial and broadcast equipment...I've seen everything.
m8,i know why you are into this projector thing.i bought a benq pe5120 (there,s one on british ebay right now with a price of £205)and could not believe the picture.films, games and pc are crystal clear.the best £500 i ever spent.
I know what you mean. Projectors are gonna put plasma and lcd tv out of production, U get the same clarity and the same connections and features for like 1/4 of the price and you can make the screen bigger that any tv will ever go. The only thing is you need the space for it.
yerrrrr , i just bought a cheapo benq for 320 quid from ebuyer , 800x600 max xvga , , and since itll still look good at 60 inches , its way cheaper then a 50 inch hi def TV , and 200 quid for a bulb isnt much every few years , just save a fiver a week aye :D
Its 137" 16x9. I painted the screen on the wall with this screen colored paint. You could do the same with yours just mount it somewhere where it wont move and mask off the area where the screen will be when the projector is on. Ps. u need to set your projector to 16x9 it looks alot better
yeah it looks like an actual screen. I didnt want a pull down screen for 2 reasons. 1st, I would have a blank wall whenever I wasnt using the projector and 2nd, I wanted somethig permenant and that would last. The paint went on easily and I just needed to apply one coat and touch up some spots. It also dried in about 20 mins. to the touch. I then used a black border paint to paint a 1" border around the screen.
wow i thot that was soarin a first

Your stuff looks real nice. Don't let these trolls get to you. Odds are, they don't have shit and are just jealous. Have fun with your projector.
