A minor nit to pick with the good Dr. Krauss on his point at the beginning (from a question in segment 6 about stupid things scientists affirm).

I'd add to Sagan by affirming (along Vic Stenger's lines) that "absence of evidence IS INDEED evidence of absence, at least when you expect evidence". As Krauss well knows, science has been amazingly successful using this device - and continues to do so with "goddidit" type answers. E.g., no luminiferous aether. Intercessory prayer not working.

As a rational human being concerned for the future of mankind and its competition regarding other nations via. scientific truth, i would rather donate money to science rather than a church in which provides a preacher with the finances capable of a nice car or home. As for religious standing, money donated to such, has no economic value, for no taxes are instated, no economic gain is achieved, and furthermore, no knowledge is gained or achieved! Religion is a drain on our society and economics!

At 1:25 or so, the man who stands up to ask the question, and pardon me for not using his exact words, but as a leading country full of ignorance, we are still a leading country minus the money donated towards science. This may be true, but to what extent? If our ignorance continues without a financial basis towards a brighter future, "science" , at what level will our society continue to be a leader? Lawrence states it well, education is the foundation of any economy, those who cannot see it?
