...and I would add: "Sadness isolates you, from everyone you know. They're all busy tryin' to hide, from friends and from their foes. You catch their eye, they look away, they will not comprehend. You hope they never have to feel this way from day to day, it's true, you hope they never have to feel this way from day to day.
Though death is not an answer, your yearning still goes on. You realize you wish for more than writing woeful songs.....................etc.
Don't know the exact thing to say and it seems there are those here who will attack a person for trying, but just had to say I'm listening and want you to know I hear you and care. ~NAncy
No truer song was ever written or sung! Been there... not fun and nobody really gets it unless they've been there. I rediscovered TV and read a bunch of really bad books. And slept a lot. And cried and prayed. The total loss of freedom and the dependency were what bothered me the most. Sending you a HUGE HUG ... hang in there, Col!! And keep writing music. Obviously the bad things in your life haven't taken that away. xo
Bravo Colin-- I hear you. 'Lord Arther' has revealed to me an entire new magnatude of pain this past month, lucky for me he has backed off over the past few days.
I hope you are not suffering the kind of intense nightmare pain you cannot escape even with overdosing with meds.
Frighteningly perceptive and emotive in a truly real way....I can't remember anyone ever writing a song about illness and isolation....brilliantly realised and a very emotional and heartfelt song!
If you had actually listened to the song...to it's depth of meaning...you would not have written the above statement....which is both emotionless and generic - the isolation of illness...not getting out, not meeting people, imprisoned in your home or in a hospital bed....weak and vulnerable, surrounded by strangers...the lack of influence or control over your predicament...music is beneficial...but so are 'get well' cards or flowers....this song goes deeper than the superficiality of illness
I understand all that, and appreciate the depth of meaning in the song, but I do believe that music can go a long way in alleviating this alienation. Surely this song is a perfect example of how it can do this.
Sadly this song is so true. Im glad you posted it as it is very good, as all your songs are.

illness cannot have the passion in your heart
illness isnt an ending its the beginning
of a start.
Your soul comes alive in your strumming
Your life shines through the drumming
Your story is told in verse
Your pain is felt through wires
that traverse around the earth.
Peace Love and Light Blessings to you
