While it's true that Norbert Wiener did work on automatic control of anti-aircraft guns, he was outspoken about the need for ethics in science, and increasingly opposed to using science for martial purposes.

This video says Norbert Wiener was born in 1886 in Chicago Illinois. Wikipedia says Norbert Wiener was born 1894 in Columbia Missouri. Wolfram|Alpha says Norbert Wiener was born 1894 in Columbia Maryland. 

Question: Why is there so much Wiener confusion?
