i didn't find this film funny at all. There were very few, if any, likeable characters. The scenes were violent and claustrophobic, and i stopped smoking wed (for a while) right after seeing it. Man, if this film wanted to demonize Mary-Jane-wanna, it did it for me. Incredibly uncomfortable viewing. Oh, and i hated that chick's character. She is truly a dumb blonde and a manipulative b#@ch to boot. She got what she deserved, if you ask me.

Araki doesn't demonize demonize weed at all. While Anna no doubt plays the role of the fool, she is ultimately a sympathetic fool. She has a childish innocence and a pure heart. I have to say every decision is something of a compromise. At least Jane is living a happy, contented life. In many ways she's entirely external to the social bullshit (ie: those who would persecute her). The Ferris wheel-communist manifesto scene can be seen as somewhat allegorical of the movie's message, imo
