  • To the people who watch this but have no clue... This video (and most tool assisted speedruns!) is from Tasvideos site, which is easy to find; once you go there, use the search function to find the game in question, the author usually explains how everything was done, find the link with author comments. This game has a particularly jawdropping glitch setup worth skimming.

  • wtf with this game xD

  • MOOOOOM, he broke the game :-(

  • Magus: the story of how one purple-haired dude keeps getting left behind.

  • Why are we putting this piece of pocket lint on trial again?

  • After watching this, I believe that applied physics should be replaced in the college curriculum with "Chronotrigonometry".

You could probably write up how to do this glitch in eleven hundred or so steps, and make it look more technical than the egronomics of nuclear fusion/fission.

Kudos to the original finder of this, to be able to use precise formulas to trick the game's coding into a string glitch is not something that usually happens by mistake. A very dedicated person indeed.

  • @HellsGladiator Thank you very much for this. I had no idea what was going on at first.

  • Because Chrono Cross confirms the presence of myriad realities in the Chronoverse(through some consoles at Chronopolis) clearly these events occurred in one of those realities. What may seem screwed up to us is simply a result of running reality through an infinite number of permutations: eventually some crazy shit is going to happen in one of the realities.

  • WTF!!!!!!!!

  • I've been playing this game pretty hardcore since it came out. Never in all of my years... NEVER have I see shit like this ;o

  • Marle twirling around made me laugh pretty hard. XD

  • lol

  • 日本語の簡単な解説があったので

    ttp://jbbs.livedoor.jp/bbs/read.cgi/game/41294/1195222808/396

  • I like how at the end, you see a shadow of one of the Lavos Bits.

You didn't finish the job, Crono! I mean, o!

  • what is this i dont even

  • wtf is he doing in the beginning??

  • @olivebates Intentionally corrupting the save files. It said at the beginning that the Speed Run used save corruption, so I can only assume he had some specific way of corrupting the save files to do EXACTLY what he needed them to do; it's the only way to glitch things in the manner he did.

  • omg

    lavos core vs missingno ..

    i've seen it all

  • I... what... no... *mind blows*

  • PRINCESS NADIA ABDUCTED HERSELF!

  • ugh this isnt playing Chrono Trigger its... Actually iono wtf this is >.>

  • That's some pretty insane court testimony.

  • @cyrenafame

"Yes, you're honour, and after Lavos was defeated by Missingno., we..."

  • If he put half of this effort in it, the world would have efficent fusion power.

  • wtf just happened?

  • Heavy Glich Abuse? More like Heavy Drug Abuse.

  • My head just exploded.

  • As soon as the box read "save corruption" I had an idea out what he was going to do. Then I watched the whole video and my perception of causality collapsed again.

  • you've created a time paradox!

  • Ah, nothing quite like traversing a post-apocalyptic wasteland with MissingNo. by your side.

  • What a mess !!! I did understand nothing on what was going on... Crazy run this is!!!

  • oh my god what

  • Wtf? At 11:33 an item is equipped/placed at a cursor co-ordinate that technically shouldn't/has no reason to exist if I'm correct?

  • @TinTinFtw I see Marle walking in the castle and being seen as Chrone AND Marle and apparently perceived as returning suddenly after being gone for some time. Then SHE is arrested for kidnapping HERSELF and you are talking cursor placement?!

  • @VaderPad I'm more interested in the technical stuff like cursor co-ordinates. I get off on cursor co-ordinates. Just hearing the letters X and Y gets me all sweaty.

  • That scary me!

  • that just made no sense..

    good job!

  • @20:15

after that point i WTF'd 3 times in a row!

so let me get this striaight, whatever characters are in your party have 0 HP but they revived and then made bosses health overflow back to 000!? and then repeated it over and over, i'm damn impressed! and wow lot of save file glitching and SKIPPING WHOLE ARCS OF STORY!? quite insane.

  • @RocketZX Nope. It's the use of the elixir on him, which you can only do with the revival accessory.

  • I've read the comments this guy left about what he did and I still have no idea what on earth happened, this is still one entertaining as hell run.

  • 14:12

Magus: n00bz, I can pass through walls

  • umm, was that just human??

  • @Xellos357 No =D

  • Ah, the wonders of time travel...

  • @vava85 hahaha

    oh wow...

  • Holy crap, that was the most glitching I think I've ever seen in a TAS... I don't know how you figured out how to do all the save file glitching and item dupes and everything, but that's just amazing.

  • This is probably one of the most disturbing speed runs I have ever seen.

  • Did he just divide by zero? Oh shi---

  • what

  • @DecipleOfMagus

    Simple.

This guy has more love and knowledge about Chrono Trigger than you could ever dream of comprehending.

A TAS in this style is about truly mastering and knowing every bit of the game. Sort of the highest praise you can give to a game.

  • @FinalBossDesu

So as long as you're involved, you're pathetic anyway huh.

    Let's debate about this!

  • At 8:43: Chancellor: "Hey, stop messing with my flashback!"

  • @jeanclaudevandamme testing

  • lol Magus got left behind

  • Holy shit, Lavos got killed by a Can.

  • I had no idea it was even possible to mess this game up that much!

  • Wow, you're seriously fucking retarded. I have no clue what the fuck you're trying to argue against with him, but you sound like you're about as intelligent as a dog.

Yes, we know that RPGs are all about the storyline. You fail to realize that the person who did this speedrun has probably played this game at least 100 times and probably already knows the entire storyline verbatim. He's already "experienced" the game.

I have no clue what point you're trying to prove, but you're an idiot.

  • Uhm oh let me guess you didnt get laid this week? (:

First of all I didnt say i needed to prove anything i just replied to a guy who started out on replying to me. My first comment didnt neccesarily have any relevance to this video but still i think it had a good point.

Then he comes around and starts bithcing about relevance and I replied and pointed out how ironic it was since it was kinda just as relevant as my comment....

  • Wow, I have never found myself saying "WTF?" watching a speedrun as many times as this. This was the most glitched out video I've ever seen. Well done!

  • Well I never said something else did I? :\

Just said what i said which doesn't have anything with what you said or atleast not neccesarily.

  • Greatest RPG ever!

  • its ur boi toks64 comin at ya

  • MY CHILDHOOD! :C

  • How in the world do people FIND this stuff!!!

  • @kingnahum17 process of elimination. sounds cliche, but if you basically do every possible action in every possible point on the map/game you'll eventually find something you can glitch. however, most of it comes by chance

  • Awesome, i read the author comments, super technical glitches hehe

  • oh my....

  • Lol, in the court... everyone must have been schizophrenic cuz they were prosecuting NOONE

  • oh shi---

  • Sweet metal Jesus...
