What utter nonsense! I was a Xian for 50 years before I graduated to atheism. Getting there took about 4 yrs of intense study of the entire Judeo-Christian religion. That's enough to make anyone an atheist! I found many problems in scripture, the early church, and especially in researching the origin of Judaism. Actually, the last one convinced me that Judaism was originally polytheistic, then covertly reconstructed to be monotheistic. Game Over! This is devastating for Christianity.
@Cootabux I became an atheist when I was 6. I found that (after seeing xmas presents in the cupboard) that Santa Claus was a fairy story. It took like 5 minutes to realise that "god" was a fairy story too. I think that if kids weren't brainwashed and indoctrinated into religion it die out within a couple of generations.
Becoming an atheist was 1 of the hardest things any1 who has been a Xian can do. If you've always been an atheist, it'd be much easier b/c u seek evidence & there isn't any...done deal. But if you've been Born Again when u were young, thinking it was all thru, until life experiences prove otherwise, it's most difficult. For 1 to deconvert, he must have courage to face facts & be honest with himself. He must learn to walk on his own 2 feet, not rely on a ghost-god to tell him what to do.

There is no evidence of god existing , but we cannot prove that he doesn't exist so we must place him on the "we don't know list", Since we cannot prove that fairies and dragons aren't real either, we must also place them on the "We don't know list". Anything that I make up off the top of my head must also be placed on this list simply because you cannot prove that it doesn't exist. Therefore there is no such thing as non-existence.

I always believed atheists to be far far more close minded than theists, and far more angry with religion. If you believed there was no God, you would not need to argue with anyone that his God doesn't exist in order to persuade him. I have yet to meet a theist threatening me with Hell. Being a Christian is hard. We face oppostion constantly. We are judged, just like an Atheist would be judged... on what we do/don't believe. It takes incredible inner strength to follow what you think is true and God gave us free will, we just chose him because he can give us that love. I don't want you or anyone to believe in God because billions of people do. I want you to beileve in God because it breaks my heart to see people dying who never knew his love. It does take amazing resolve to stand up for what you believe in, I come from a non-religious family, and when they saw my cross they were shocked and didn't shut up about it, untill one day I said. What I don't like about this movie is that it makes all theists look like the bad guys, and athiest look like good guys. I'm not saying it's vice versa. I'm saying there are all kinds of people in the world. I've met really awesome theists, and some not so great. I've met some really awesome atheists, and also some not so great. I'm going to give a Christian viewpoint. For one, I don't think I know anyone who preaches at you as a regular thing, not just a phase. For another, one day I was thinking about why I don't like law shows until I got it- It's people thinking their wise enough to come up with a situation on their own. @ its only me people. I never really believed that the story from the video actually happened. I only used it because people knew what I was talking about. The thing that is wrong is that people ask for proof of God and when they get it, they excuse it away and never give credit for what happens. They see acts of God right in front of them, but hide their eyes to it instead of admitting they are wrong, or could be wrong.
@IDIISAIRIM What I think is wrong is when people attribute an incident as "proof" of God when there is an obvious and more probable explanation. Someone claiming God healed their cancer after they've undergone chemotherapy treatments is disingenuous. A student thanking God for the "A" on a test that they've studied weeks for is also wrong. I'm not saying that God (if He exists) couldn't have done those things but if there is a natural explanation for something, it's wrong to attribute it to God.

There is no extrabiblical evidence of Jesus, and even if there was this would only prove that he existed, not that he was God's son or that he was God himself. (I don't know which of the two you believe.)
Atheists aren't in a fight against themselves to prove there is no God, they just aren't convinced that there is a God. If an atheist was given proof they would evaluate its validity not fight it.

That's enough to make anyone an atheist! I found many problems in scripture, the early church, and especially in researching the origin of Judaism. I always believed atheists to be far far more close minded than theists, and far more angry with religion. If you believed there was no God, you would not need to argue with anyone that his God doesn't exist in order to persuade him. I have yet to meet a theist threatening me with Hell. It is also funny how you make theist=christian. couldn't this concept of not doing and believing what is "easy" also work in a reverse situation? like mine for example. i live with atheists'. i go to a public school. ive dated many atheists i was close to. and yet have still held onto my faith in the Lord. Being a Christian is hard. We face oppostion constantly. We are judged, just like an Atheist would be judged... on what we do/don't believe. It takes incredible inner strength to follow what you think is true and God gave us free will, we just chose him because he can give us that love. I don't want you or anyone to believe in God because billions of people do. I want you to beileve in God because it breaks my heart to see people dying who never knew his love. He's there, give him a try.

And if God gave us free will then they have a right as any of us Christians to say no. It's sad knowing some may not see God the way we Christians do, yes, but it's their choice. No matter what we say, unless God /himself/ intervines, they won't have any urge to change their mind.

If somebode puts forth a proposition, any proposition, each individual will either take it to be true (believe) or take it to be false (NOT believe). Confusion only arises because theists like yourself know that accepting the proposition "God exists" entails a whole system of subordinate beliefs contingent to that proposition (religious rituals, holy scriptures, heaven & hell). Atheism has none of that.

Based on my own personal experience, observing other Christians, studying the Bible from a more objective point of view instead of just devotionally it occurred to me one day that I didn't believe that stuff anymore. It does take amazing resolve to stand up for what you believe in, I come from a non-religious family, and when they saw my cross they were shocked and didn't shut up about it, untill one day I said. What I don't like about this movie is that it makes all theists look like the bad guys, and athiest look like good guys. I'm not saying it's vice versa. I'm saying there are all kinds of people in the world. I've met really awesome theists, and some not so great. I've met some really awesome atheists, and also some not so great. One isn't better than the other; it depends on the individual person.
I LOVE what the athiest told the theist. It highlights the reason why I choose to be athiest.

I know I can be a good person and live my life to it's fullest without the fear of going to hell because I do something against "His" rules. However, I don't see how that is truly relevant, because if you account for drift, or the loss of any parts on possibly a voyage across the red sea, parts of chariots could be scattered across the ocean floor. So this point is truly irrelevant and it seems like you're just grasping at straws to try to prove a non-existent point.

This video made me feel like shit. :( I love standing up for what I believe in, but the other Christian version of this made me feel like there was hope. I have my doubts..but I'm being true to myself. I question my God, I believe that someday there is a heaven. I face reality but I do it with God. (well, I try. Sometimes.) lol but isn't that what believing is all about? Trying? Hoping? Giving your trust to some invisible guy or force is pretty much amazing. It proves you have confidence.

I'm going to give a Christian viewpoint. For one, I don't think I know anyone who preaches at you as a regular thing, not just a phase. For another, one day I was thinking about why I don't like law shows until I got it- It's people thinking their wise enough to come up with a situation on their own. God tells us to love our neighbor. If everyone regardless of belief could do that, this world would be a much better place.

The thing that is wrong is that people ask for proof of God and when they get it, they excuse it away and never give credit for what happens. They see acts of God right in front of them, but hide their eyes to it instead of admitting they are wrong, or could be wrong.

@IDIISAIRIM What I think is wrong is when people attribute an incident as "proof" of God when there is an obvious and more probable explanation. Someone claiming God healed their cancer after they've undergone chemotherapy treatments is disingenuous. A student thanking God for the "A" on a test that they've studied weeks for is also wrong. I'm not saying that God (if He exists) couldn't have done those things but if there is a natural explanation for something, it's wrong to attribute it to God.

I know not all christians do that, i'm friends with several that don't , but it may not be easy being christian, but it's certainly no easier not being. Both of us have it rough.
