@moonpower17 Brian Aubert doesn't even sound like a girl. The best I cn describe it as is, He just has 2 voices coming through at once. One is a very strained high voice, and the other is a kinda raspy lower tone. But it's clearly a guy, unless you're lame and think that men only sing like Brian Johnson.

One of the most talented bands out there today.

Very unique, and they are incredible performers too.

Saw them live and was blown away! On top of this, they're hard workers and very down to earth.

I love when bands are humble. Makes me love them even more.

their performance at Lollapalooza 2009 solidifies them as one of the most underrated bands of our time. I'm torn because I want them to see huge success, but I don't want anything about them to change. ...or I can just go see them on tour with Cage the Elephant and the Manchester Orchestra... both bands that I love.

his voice is what helps make this band so unique!! I hate to compare to the smashing pumpkins (this bands been compared to them too much) but billys voice was also what helped make them so unique. This band is my favorite!

Im a fan of both bands. But I have to say that the bands dont sound the same at all. SSPU is more keyobard orientated with heavy drum riffs and significant vocals. Smashing pumpkins is alot different, although theyre sound was inconsistent as time passed. I guess we will just see what SSPU is like after the realease of swoon

i think in a way they can sound similar...but i agree they are both completley different...and i think the pumpkins have more diversity between their records...although silversun pickups only have two records..

listen i like both bands, but the similaritys are undeniable. both have depressing sounds and lyrics. both have weak, throaty vocalists. both have relatively untalented female bassists. both lead singers also play lead guitar. both use heavy big muff distortion with a marshal amp (giving them almost the same guitar sound).

They are completely similar. SP = SP. The guitar tone is completely ripped from Siamese Dream. The voices are both light and throaty. The "dream pop" guitar parts might as well be Soma/ Rhinoceros/ Siva. The bassist might as well be D'arcy. They owe their career to early Smashing Pumpkins, that's that

-Nikki is a 500 times better bass player than D'arcy,

-Guanlao and Chamberlin have completely different drumming techniques.
