If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
your very pretty . but i was wondering if it damages your hair becuase my hair has been growing and i use a chi. im black and my hair is in the upper half of my back. ive had my chi for 5 years lol. but its works but i need a new one. i was thinking of switching?
@sommerbrez@sommerbrez thanks for your comment :) I actually dont use this iron anymore...I use the Kiyoseki or "K-Styler"
If the CHI has worked for you for 5 years then I think you should definitely stick with it! lol The solia is great, if u want to try it, order it from Folica because they give you a 30 day money back guarantee! :)
did you or do u go to towson university? and have u tried the instyler rotating iron? i've read alot of reviews (they're pretty mixed for the most part) i just want to know if the thing will last or if it will conk out on u in like a month...thank u!
your so puurrddyy! thanks for the vid, i just bought one of folica, and got a bit nervous that i might have made a bad decision as ive been saving up for a chi, but this helps alot! thank you!
i got $127.50 for my birthday and i am going to buy a solia from folica c0m. and i have had past flat irons that were kinda good. my first two were conair and they were only $20.00 and the other was $13.50... then i went to sallys and they had a flat iron on sale for $19.99 instead of $29.99. it is called a Jilbere De Paris Xtreme Ceramic.
its kinda good... it straightens my hair.
and i have very fine, straight-wavy, medium, choppy hair! and i hope the solia works good on it! :D
i've had my solia for three years, and it still works just as well as the first day i've had it. Best hair straightener out there for its price. Comparable to Sedu and outdoes the chi as well ^^
You just have to play with the heat adjustments. I dont know what temp would be good for you because I dont know what kind of hair you have, nor do I use this iron anymore. Sorry :(
D: Please explain to me what the foaming pomade is like. It helps style hair, am I correct? O: But does it leave your hair feeling soft and silky still?
You're lucky you can find your name on stuff, but yes her hair is lovely and she is cute. I really liked how she spoke through the video and explained what she was doing.
first what does the Paul Mitchell Foaming Pommade do??
and second does the straightener damage ur hair cuz i have a chi and it has like DAMAGED my hair?? and im blacks so i do kinda have nappy hair so does that straightener work good for my kind of hair??
Hey does the Light KEEP ON flickering till you turn the switch off? I bought mine today and the Red light doesn't stop flickering. I thought its only supposed to flicker for like 30seconds. And then when I try to put the temperature below 300, the light doesn't even come on. Should I get a refund? Is yours like mine too?
I own the Solia and I would say yeah, it would work for a lot of different hair types simply because it has a really wide temperature range (140 - 450F) so it works for a lot of people, no matter what the hair type. Make sure you use a heat protectant though!
yea n it works really good 2 my hair is curly(lyk, ringlets curly) n really poofy n frizzy n it only takes me about 45 min. so ya its really worth the money
hey i was thinking bout getting this flat iron but i dont if its gonna work on african american hair i have a ourm but i just wanted to know if was gonna get that straight on my hair
Yeah, I use Tresemme's Heat Tamer spray. Its in a black and red bottle. It costs about $4 from Walmart. Works great, spray it on while your hair is damp or dry, doesnt matter.
hey i just got this flat iron. this one is pretty good; well it's day 1 but i'll definitly update how it goes. my sister tried it on me, and i have long hair so it works.
i haven't got curling down yet, but it curls pretty good.
btw, is your hair a little damp after applying all the products? because i've read somewhere your hair shouldn't be wet/damp.
I got the Kiyoseki in the other day. My hair isnt curly so I couldnt get the full effect of it, because it doesnt take much for my hair to straighten. But, I will definitely make a video of comparison between the two. My siter has EXTREMELY curly hair, so I will feature her in it, and test the Solia on one side of her head, and the Kiyoseki on the other. I'll have it up hopefully by the end of this week. :)
1) I've had it for a year, and Im starting to think that its performance has gone down or my hair just isnt taking to the iron anymore. Thats why I bought the Kiyoseki (review vid coming soon)
2) Yes the styles last throughout the day, curls need a holding spray though.
3) No I dont have the pink one. I like to stick to the regular stuff because you never know if they used cheaper materials in the limited editions.
definitely. i ordered the pink one and i pretyt much love it, but i'm having trouble with curling my hair? idk, i think i might be doing it wrong. lol have to watch those videos a little more !
My old roommate had a CHI and I didnt really like it because you cant adjust the temperature. Sedu was too expensive and all the reviews on Folica said the Solia was just like it, and I've never used Hai.
does your solia plates move? like does it push down i just bought a solia 1 1/4 inch and the plates move. Does every solia iron come like this. Just wondering ? Thanks
The Karmin G3 Salon Pro is better, leaves my hair soft, shiny and super straight, :D

Did the iron blow out any smoke or steam when you used it? I have a CHI now and it lets out a ridiculous amount of smoke...Time for a new iron haha

i think its better than a chi because it has the changeable heat settings.
but it is your choice. :]

jesleaandfriends 2 years ago
Wrong.
We're talking about hair oils not cooking oil.
Biosilk hair therapy work better when you iron since it infuses the 'oil' into your hair to repair damage, soften, and increase shine.
Toya123 2 years ago
if you do it in smaller section it go fast kinda
bfftiera 2 years ago
give your selft a tip you need heat protectant spray and its not oil
bfftiera 2 years ago
does this straightener have swivel cord? or is it just....you know attached in there?
minhee475 2 years ago
yeah its a swivel cord :)
KelzCastTV 2 years ago
are you serious?? i thought the heat protectant was to put in your hair before so your hair WON'T get damaged. ^^
minhee475 2 years ago 2
No.
You can use oils on your hair.
It's a good way to treat it too. Try Chi Silk Infusion
Or Biosilk hair therapy.
If oils were bad for your hair you would hear the sizzle.
You hair actually looks and feels better when you use hair oil or serum before and after flat ironing.

hey, great video. I might buuy a Solia, but I have some quick questions!
1) does the Solia last long, like beyond the warranty?
2) do the styles last throughout the day?
3)have you used the pink by any chance? if so is it better or worse than the original?
pleasee let me know if you have answers to these! i'll be so grateful(:
