  • Thanks !!!!! they are great radios.

  • I Got the Yaesu and the Icom too.

    Nice set up!

  • I think that comments like this is out of place because my intention is only to share with other people who enjoy this hobby what to build, at no time is the intention demonstrate what i have and others do not

  • this is the answer to that commentAcho que comentários como este está fora de lugar, porque a minha intenção é apenas compartilhar com outras pessoas que gostam deste hobby o que sucede na construção, em nenhum momento é a intenção de mostrar o que eu tenho e outros não.

  • this is the translation for the comment of the person who wrote on portuguese:This only shows that if the person has money,he can bear his wealth is to show to the poor of the lower class of the population that we will never be able an equipment thus

  • Well..If you are a Licenced Ham radio operator, then most of that equipment no problem.. That is Except the scanner.. Most areas do Not allow a scanner in a car which you may get away with depending on the cop and or if you have a ham licence (but neither can prevent issues with having a scanner operational in a car..even though a ham radio will typically get those same and or more frequency's then the scanner )...

I like how you put it all together...Well thought out.. Good Job & Enjoy it !!!

  • @MrBOB39 yeah that is true but I forgot to mention that I am News Stringer so I need this equipment for my job. Thank you for your comments I really appreciate them !!

  • Isso só mostra que se a pessoa tem dinheiro, ele pode ostentar sua riqueza e mostrar para nós pobres da classe mais baixa da população que nunca conseguiremos um equipamento assim

  • Fantastic. Very impressive. I can see that you put a lot of hard work and fun time planning the layout of your equipment. Wish most cars came equiped with slide in openning to add our equipment and of stereos for other's that are no into our hobby.

Hope the Police don't pull you over and harrass you for having all that great equipment.

  • Thank you very much for your comment and it is true, was a lot of work but I enjoy it every minute

  • Very nice set up you have there lots of work .

  • jajajajaja, no, just the stock alternator, 145 amps, but with two Red top Optima batteries !

  • and a 900 amp alternator

  • Well, as long as you are a licensed ham radio operator I don't see any problem, and even if you are not, you still have the right to own one of these equipments and to listen the frequencies without transmitting. Now, with the scanner it is totally legal to own one the only thing is that you can't modify the equipment to listen to cell phones or encrypted frequencies.

  • excellent job. the only things I would be concerned with are theft (because radios are visible), and greater scrutiny by law enforcement if you get stopped for a traffic violation.

  • Very much !!

  • you have been busy.

  • The antennas are from Ham Radio Outlet and they are also motorized and the switch control for them are also at the console so I don't need to go outside the truck to raise them just with pressure of the respective switch.

Everything you can buy from craigslist, e-bay, local ham radio store and local electronic store.

I hope I answered your question if not please post again and I will be happy to help you out

  • I bought the aluminum sheet and I did send it to be cut on a water jet machine to fit the radios dimensions, as you probably know aluminum is really strong material but at the same time it is soft enough to jam any cutting tool that's why I decided to go with the water jet. The upholstery is leather and I did it, all the wiring was design for me and have its own main circuit breaker plus inside each equipment also it is secure by individuals fuse.

  • all the switches are from the local electronic store, the console is actually a police radio console, brand name Jotto (model jotto desk, that you can buy from e-bay or any police auction) that I refurbished to fit on my truck and the top part of it is made out of aluminum sheet and cut out to fit my radios and the other equipment

  • Uniden BCD996XT digital scanner, comes equipped with Uniden exclusive features like Advanced Dynamic Memory System, Close Call RF Capture Technology, and GPS compatibility, Digital Mobile Scanner with 25,000 Channels and GPS Support

SWR meter for easy read on the Icom 706.

Antenna Auto Tunner LDG YT-100 for the Icom 706

  • Well about the radios they are as follows:

Icom 706 which cover from 1800Mhz to 54000 Mhz plus this specific equipment was modified to transmit on 11 meters

FT-7900R 2 Meter / 70 cm Dual Band FM Transceiver, provides 50 Watts of power on the 144 MHz band, and 40 Watts on the 430 MHz

  • Yes this is a screen that it is hooked to the rear view camera also to the cd/video player and a computer that a I did built for a project that I am currently working on. Also throughout the computer I have access to real time weather and the roof remote control camera for filming

  • Definitely a professional looking installation. I like the screen idea. Did you say you hook your computer up to that as well? 73's WX9SWX

  • Thanks for your remarks, I also love my setup but I tell you it took over 2 months to design and finish it. 73s
