This dog is absolutely a german shepher. Do not confuse this dog with bart's own dog "Thor" which is a bi-color malinois (obviously malinois do not come in that color so there must be something else back there). But "Thor" is probably almost 100% malinois.
@ipogrim I have 2 malinois myself, I agree with everyone else. Unless you show me a close up of this dog and his papers, I'm positive it's a shepherd too.

@ipogrim I could be wrong but it looks like a black gsd. I've never seen a black malinois and the tail hangs lower and is curved like a shepherd.
