  • the interviewers' talking way is kinda annoying, i love T's way.

  • I am glad that I finally know about this lovely lady. I worked in Korea for 3 years and when it comes to racism in Korea, I can identify with her being bi-racially Korean and black. In her song, "Black Happiness," I like how she mentioned how fingers were pointed at her because she has darker skin. I felt that way as a black English teacher in Korea which is why I concluded that Koreans are the most racist people in Asia.

  • definitely one of the best english I've heard from Koreans...truly a Legend

  • Oh man i want her to come back lol xD

  • she looks like lim from wonder girls, from the eyes and lips xD

  • Honestly no matter what you mix Korean with either black/white etc, the Korean beauty always stands out!

Just look at Amerie, Julian Kang, Chanel Iman and not to mention Yoon Mi Rae, these people are all so gorgeous!

  • What's the name of the song that played when the host was introducing Yoon Hi Rae through the screen?

  • @my831grl Black Happiness :D i think it is,if i'm wrong o-o

  • @MsJapaneseCherryPoP No I think you're right. I just jumped way ahead when asking [posting] the question. At the end of the video, the host says what the song is XD Thanks anyway :))

  • @my831grl haha it's ok ^_^ i saw that too when i was answering u xD

  • @MsJapaneseCherryPoP No you're right :) the host gave the viewers a preview. Thanks anyway.

  • speaking for the younger generation....we know who you are now baby t!!!

  • wtf black music??? xD

  • Is she a mix? or is she full korean?

  • @sexybutterflythang shes half black from her dad's side

  • Rofl, they call R&B "black music" in Korea??

  • is she lighter? did she use bleaching cream? was she darker? it doesn't matter. she is talented. that's what's counted.

  • MAY 31ST! FTW!!! SAME HAS MINE!

  • the interviewer is annoying

  • @suhyona89 okay

  • You kidding me?

Fans will never forget you. for real. You're too good to be forgotten.

  • on tv, or noewspaper? no one will forget you~

  • Why are they sitting so far away?

  • 1:52 T... I really don't think she should worry of being forgotton. I mean she is a LEGEND. People do not forget Legendszz~

  • i love her! i didn't realize how liht she was i remember when she first came out they made her lighter with make up then she looked alot darker could have been make up too but still that's soooo beside the point i still love her ^^

  • she debuted so early. I think that she was a member of girl group. At that time, I actually did not expect her long run. however, now she is a trend. I saw her and Tiger JK on my University festival few years ago. It was so nice.

  • 2:16 creepy as hell

  • She used to be darker, but her color seems lighter now.

I hope she didn't use those stupid creams.

She should be proud of herself.

  • @x7557x She did use the creams, But that was back in her old days , Thats what her song black happiness explaines i think.

  • @x7557x In South Korea they want u to have lighter skin. I want to be honest pale skin don't look good on everyone If u was born with it. I don't like the way they made her put on white make up.Yellow skin is pretty to me. Its golden and my african american dark brown skin is pretty.

  • She's so cute and Rap so Hard.

  • wuts the first song they play before she came out the seen

  • @Cheezmik

    black happiness

  • What the hell is "Black Music"?

  • @HardNotTo

You have to understand the korean culture. Black music refers to Soul jazz hip hop r&b etc... Yes its a insensitive term, but most koreans dont have experience with african americans. thus they attribute everything "black" something. Though in truth african american culture is seen all over urban subculture. Kpop wouldnt exist w/o hip hop and r&b influence.

  • @Sads626 Not to argue, but why not call it, "African" music? Why use the color "Black"?

  • @HardNotTo

well, that partially because of african americans own distintions. When one uses the term african, they think of the continent and the culture there, not the disapora in america. Even african americans call each other black. black people etc.. Koreans dont understand the history, the only semi understand the word.

  • @Sads626 Well in that case, I would then understand if they would say, "Black People Music", rather than (in my thinking) a color black. In turn, I could say I love "White Music" - which I guess could mean, hmm, what? Anyhow, just wondering.

  • @HardNotTo

Well you are very correct, but in Korea, there are not many african american citizens. There are some teachers and workers and whatnot, but the African american presence is missing in Korea. Its was expect for them to misinterpret. Its similar in the Us where one could say kpop is "asian" music. Not the most sensitive term, but its inexperience I think.

  • @HardNotTo sorry. in fact. in Korean language, there is no word like 'black music'. we call it '흑인음악(huk-in- um-ak)'.litterally means 'black people music ' as you appointed. and because we ourself are so- called 'colored people'. so we would use the word 'black' more freely. and we ourself call our race ' hwang in jong(yellow race) '

and seldom use the term 'asian'.- it maybe more politicaly correct in usa, but in asan country..not so correct. because it would ignore all of differnce

  • @HardNotTo between all of aian people-from arab to japan- there is no 'asian people' totally different from the situation of europian.. so ^^ the termalogy and social context arevery different with those in usa.

  • Where was she born?? Her english is very good.

  • @destined2bebossy I don't know where she was born but her mother is Korean and father is American.

  • @avastacia lol I know but I'm just pointing it out lolz

  • @avastacia ooh yes it can, like when i use to go to school in west africa and alot of the mixed group would have white futures like he or she would look white, they hav the kinda like taned skin but the rest of teir future would be white, and when i came to the state and saw mixed with some black futures wel west african futures i was like wow so cool
