  • I don't get why they couldn't swab her for semen or hair samples, rape leaves A LOT of DNA behind, and it isn't like DNA testing is terribly expensive. It's very sad that they didn't test him for a match before they convicted him.

  • @lexironic DNA didn't exist. It says he heard of a 'new thing called DNA' and wrote to his attorney. That's why, as soon as they could, they completed the DNA testing of the samples of evidence from the crime and Ronald Cotton was exhonerated.

  • Now, if he had been given the death penalty that would have been so much worse. We have to be SURE that the criminal is in jail. DNA never lies. It's frustrating to know that there are people our there committing heinous crimes and innocent people are paying for them.
