Prop 8 was not about stopping people from committing homosexual acts. It is about protecting the rights of religious people to disagree with gay marriage. We're not interested in making people unhappy!

Its not a brown hair vs. brown hair issue. Even the courts have already said so. Marriage and identity and behavior go SO much deeper than that.
Look up the first Supreme Court ruling on interracial marriage (Loving v. Virginia) and its follow-up decisions all the way into 2006 (Wikipedia tracks these well) for more into.
Prop 8 was not about hate. It was about the people keeping the right to define marriage, with malice toward none--the legal rights 2 people can have r in civil unions.

Guess what? Most heterosexuals are homophobic
and are easily frightened. Obama and Biden
both know that this issue of Prop.8 is the third rail of politics so try to appear to
be on both sides of the issue. Civic marriage
is a contract and has nothing to do with relgion. Religion is about power, not God.
