i love that he performed a Rod Stewart track. Rod and him used to play together in Long John Baldry's band, so they were friends. Baldry also used to swap records with a guy named Paul McCartney from up north.
What a treat to hear all six "missing" tracks on the 40th anniversary! This track and Border Song should have made the cut. Maybe they'll release the whole concert for the 50th. Thanks for posting these tracks!
I too commemorate this day by wearing my 11-17-70 t-shirt (that I made from the album cover) and playing the ALBUM. I loved EJ when he was writing some of the most beautiful music on this planet. I wish he would start again!
Since I was about 10 years old (1976), I always refer to November 17th as Elton John day in commemoration of this amazing concert. Almost every November 17th, I sit down and listen to the album all the way through. This year, 40 years after the event took place, I'm actually going to hear (for the first time) the whole concert in its entirety!!
Damn.... EJ's voice is on point...and the band playing that funky groove.......Dee and Nigel, and of course The Captain....killing it....great post thanks!

@musicguy1987 Um ... Country Comfort is an Elton John tune. Rod Stewart's version is a cover.
