I took a first aid class. NEVER do what they told you. Instead, out them on a flat floor and elevate their feet. Check the scene if it is safe, Call 911, and Care for them.
I remember reading somewhere where you would want to ask the victim questions about their life or anything that will make them think. I think this was about how to treat someone for shock. Anyone know if that's the right thing to do or was it for something else?
i was walking through an alley and i saw this girl shaking and going into shock, so i tried to like break her arms and legs just for fun then i poured a garbage can on her and ran away if she survived i bet she thought it was hilarious
first, he needs to switch to whitening toothpaste, omg yellow teeth.
second its obvious that he is faking his own death to get out of the loveless marrage with that hideous beast wife of his. This is made apparent by the fact that he was supposedly climbing up a ladder to nail something to a brick wall then he fell 8 ft landing on his head and still managed to keep a grip on the totaly pointless hammer? WTF?!?!?
In 1707, a young girl was out strolling at night when she was pushed down a well. She fell to her death, landing on a metal rod, impaling her through the head. She stayed in that well for over 200 years, when in 1924 they destroyed it and her bones were recovered. Now that you have read this, you must repost this on atleast 5 video's before an hour is up, or she will find you when you are asleep, and impale you through the head with the same rod.
I am a 28 year Paramedic. Someone who has obviously fallen from a ladder should NEVER have something placed under their head. They may have a neck injury. The video was way too complicated. Steps should be: Call 911, keep them still, elevate feet, keep warm, roll gently to the side if they are vomiting. Also someone who is simply feeling faint can sit with their head between their knees, it raises the intrathoracic pressure and will increase blood flow to the brain.
Well, I think the general point of the video was for a layperson to treat shock until you guys show up. They specifically said in the video not to move them if you don't know what their injuries are.
I tell them to take two breaths and cough hard two or three times if they look like they're starting to faint. Coughing contracts the heart muscle and rapidly increases circulation. It also helps if you are alone and about to have a heart attack.
That's actually terrible advice. I don't know about coughing to prevent shock, since I haven't looked that up, but coughing to prevent a heart-attack is not only a myth, it's a BAD IDEA. It's as simple as going to snopes and looking this up. One should not cough to prevent an oncoming heart-attack unless you know what kind of heart-attack it is and you know what you're doing. Generally, doing this will only makes things worse. Please do a little research before posting this type of thing.
Gotta love advice some idiot doctors came up with. Bending forward restricts breathing and puts pressure on internal organs, organs that could have been damaged from the incident that brought shock on in the first place.
Does a panic attack count as going into shock?

@Antiquemedic They are demonstrating how to treat shock, and also if you see they are also treating fainting. You dont have to be so critical...

That's actually really good advice. Someone at our school was feeling really faint, and a teacher told him to do that. It worked.
