  • Very good mandolin work. The neck on this mandolin looks wider than most. Is it? Thanks for the post.

  • thanks for the kind post and giving this a listen....my mando neck is 'standard' width - Collings does make offer a wider nut width. All the best with your music,

    dale

  • you have so many Collings instruments.... < jealous.

    dale

  • Nicely played Tonedr!

Tylda; Tonedr is playing Butch Baldassari's version in 30 fiddle tunes. Very recommended mandolinbook by a nice man who had to leave us far to early.

  • thanks for the kind and informative post....agreed, BB was a great player/person gone too soon.

    Paul

  • hello sir! I have not done a tutorial on this but should - i'll try to get that accomplished. Hope all so well,

    dale

  • great playing as always. i just bought a couple of mandolins. being a guitarist, it was a real shock to feel the difference btwn the small spaces btwn the frets compared to the guitar.

  • glad to hear about your mandos! There is a big difference in feel isn't there. I think it helps as a guitarist because you have to be so accurate on the mando - thanks for giving this a listen and i hope you enjoy your new instrument,

    dale

  • Nice!

  • Thanks for watching!

    best,

    dale

    dale

  • man oh man.....i wanna learn that song just like that.....i loved it. I have been playin guitar for a long time, but could never pick lead...i just bought my first mandolin, and can play irish washerwoman. but i want to learn so much more. any way you could slow that down for me?

  • hello, so great to hear about your music! The mando is such a great instrument...I appreicate your request and i'll give it some thought. All the best,

    dale

  • That was awesome. Whiskey Before Breakfast was the very first tune I learned on the mando. And, Collings makes some of the best mandolins IMHO, is that a MT, MT2, or MT2V?

  • hello! It is a great old tune - i sure appreciate you watching. Mine is a MT2V - i am really thankful to have it. What do you play?

  • Thanks for the reply. I've got a blond MT2

  • sounds sweet! I'm sure it is nice - keep in touch,

    dale

  • Thanks for replying, I have been playing for a little over 5 months. I would sure like to see you play Hop the Fence, what do you think?
