The reason why a lot of people rate him is because they assume passiontate= good player, and because commentators never point out his mistakes. For example, they didn't point out that he played Tottenham onside for two of their goals, then he was the one complaining, or that he was two metres away from Danny Wellbeck when he flicked the ball on for Hernandez's goal. carragher is the man,... the tackles at 1.37 and 1.44 are from the same match and happened in quick succession, he was in pain and still he was tackling and putting his body in the line.... all respect

carra is a gr8 servant 4 LFC but he's NEVER been a top def. - like or hate it, thats da FACT! I'm not judging him on his recent 'supposed' dip of form but since's he debuted with LFC he's just been consistent n dependable squad player or else he's nowhere of a level of a top def.! 2005 has been his best year - thats all!

You're a Mauritian, I'm a Mancunian. You wouldn't know Liverpool quite like I do. This inter-city rivalry has been going on for long, and of all the centre halves that registered against Man Utd, Carragher and Sami Hyppia, came up the most. Between the both, Cara edged out Sami. Skrtel is only a hardman and good in the air, his positioning is poor, and he can't cover for anyone, Agger, yes he's the guy, but he still needs to work with Cara to be just like him or even better. I also refer to his general performance. I spoke more on his Man Utd - LFC games because, as a Man Utd fan, I see these matches more. Cara is a GREAT defender, Carragher isn't meant to captain, but LFC's best defender, which he is.

@shagrath37 i'd have to disagree - Hyypia; now at Bayer Leverkusen, with the best defensive record and coming first in the table. Agger and Skrtel are younger than 25. Defense ALWAYS relies on experience and anticipationg.

thats cos alot of videos on him are very similar... there isnt much on carra... a severely underrated player... he's my fav player but to be honest theres nothing special about him except the heart and soul he has for liverpool.... that is the reason i love his style of play so much.... determined and willing to sacrifice everything for his club
