@Epicuner here is what i think happened. because Tokyo drift was made at the time when Asians weren't viewed as handsome and cool potential in the u.s,they killed him off. most likely they never expected such a huge fanbase for that character. after all he is Asian. if you look back at u.s movie history,not many Asians were known to simply be cool and handsome. they were usually typecast with negative stereotypes like kung fu or nerd. so now times are changing and now they regret it.
