Another method that works well is 50/50 solution of white distilled vinegar and isopropyl alcohol ... put several drops and leave in the ear for a few minutes, then rinse with the remaining solution from a syringe bulb.

the syringe is the best method..most practical and simple..plus you dont have to pay the doctor for something that you can do allready by yourself...also you dont have to buy ear drops just a couple of drops of good old olive oil heated in body temp is just as effective,maybe even more

sometimes i use the things that are made of like wax and cheeseclothe. u put it in ur ear than burn it about half way

I believe you're referring to an 'ear candle'. Unfortunately, the dark stuff that looks like ear wax actually comes from the candle itself. It's easy to prove with a simple experiment:

Ive been getting my ears cleaned out with q-tips and hydrogen peroxide since i was a child. im 25 now and still do it. Never had problems with my ears, not to mention even a ear ache. Its not hard to clean your ears without buying into advertising.

Do NOT use Q-tips to clean your ear canal. You can rupture the ear drum, and/or push wax deeper into the ear.

It does, actually. Most medical professionals will advocate the use of olive oil over the use of solutions which contain carbamide peroxide.
