what an amazing man to envision such structures and then build them ! genius ! he makes the world around us so much more interesting - rather than the hideous boxes that most cities are full of - and certainly most suburbs ! we need more people designing incredible buildings !
Not impressed. Design for design's sake. Architects tend to get carried away. The more noted they are, the more bizarre their creations. What about the rest of us that have to look at these things?
Although you may not be aware of it due to socioeconomic and/or biological conditions, there are some here that might find your langauge not only abusive but vulgar. Please take it elsewhere.
Additionally, I have nothing more to share with you so if you can handle it, I would strongly suggest you simply go away. Quitely.
You sound like you knew him personally. Sadly, Johnson was not a particularly significant creative force as his reputation for a clear lack of personal vision and his willingness to adopt and utilize others' ideas is well documented. He most certainly was no match for Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
I know all the arguments against Philip Johnson and what you write about him is boring and sounds copy pasted from somewhere.
PJ may not have been the biggest architect himself, and he even admits that, but his contribution to modern architecture, his work as a patron and what he did to promote good architecture puts him up there among the greatest ... AND glass house is a modernist masterpiece and one of the most fascinating pieces of architecture ever
Thank you Danish Wolf. Just had a look at your " Channel " and must say that if this is an indication of your aesthetic sensibilities, you certainly strike me as a person people should be listening to.
what a sad loser you are ... you ran out of arguments pretty fast, didn't you ... but hey, you knew that Mies van der Rohe's first name was Ludwig, impressive stuff ... jeez, what a wanker, *lol*
Great clip otherwise! Thanks. But please! Turn that background noise off! We don't want to listen to the awful sound, we want to hear him talking!
