I had learnt much better three and four ball tricks before moving onto 5, I wouldn't have had the control to even consider 5 before I got better at 3 and 4 balls.

Yes, he still juggles. Now Vova is one of the best jugglers of the World. But juggling chainsaws, knives, and torches doesn't require much skills.

Vova started juggling, because it was one of the classes at the circus school he attended.

I didn't have such thoughts about Vova being a famous juggler. But if somebody asks me "Do you want Vova to become a famous juggler?", I would answer "Sure." :-) I also wanted him to become the great mathematician, scientist, acrobat, performer, piano player... :-) Juggling was just one of the activities Vova pursued.

As for the initiative, no, he didn't have the one.
