  • "Sophisticated equipment, such as this optical comparator" ... eloquently put for a machine from the thirties.

  • @KarriKoivusalo you wouldnt believe what industries still use these machine. We have around a dozen where i work. We check tolerances on parts upto .001. Very useful for checking inside castings on tight tolerance parts.

  • This technique used by our ancestors for millenniums

  • Thanks

  • AKA Investment casting

  • 4:20 radiuses?

  • wow that is so much effort for a little part. its kinda of a wasteful and time consuming process.. D:

  • The wax is very hard and brittle, not like candle or beeswax. You could use any wax,

it's just not as stable. The slurry is a lot like the slurry used to make porcelain dolls

    or china.

  • What is the slurry they dip the wax in? Some know where it can be bought?

  • @JustWonderingHowToDo you mostlikley willnot be able to buy whatever it is. the main reason being its not a comon thing. it may evan be made their at the place. 2nd evan if you can buy it its probily going to be expesive and on top of that you probily would have to buy 5000 gallons of it at a time. so it would end up being around $2000 per order

  • i like when people work with wax it's cool

  • metal delivery system? they mean gates and risers

  • What kind of wax they use? is it candel wax?

  • @supperstorm ear wax i believe

  • tha narrator is good, but today he seems to have a cold :D

  • These products that come out of mas producing factories are alwass SO butiful and perfect. Aluminium is sutch a beutiful metal. Plastic is also quite nice, it is a versitile and wonderful material. Things made by computer are SO perfect. I love aluminium and plastic. Aluminium hase a finish as nice as gold.

  • Very interesting.Thanks for posting :)

  • how large it must be the piece comapring with the original,i mean how much does the metal is contracting(sry my english)

  • that depends on what type of metal it is and how thick it is. thick steel or iron will shrink considerably more than thin walled aluminum.
