@nzellemac I got the words while visiting Australia and sing the song in a Barbershop quartet, Please let me know what the correct word is instead of Rotorua as I would hate of offend anybody. It is one of the best songs I have ever sang with "Wight Harmony's" quartet, "Wight Wine"

Hi Mitch .. this song is a well loved, traditional Maori folk song (around 100 years old which is old in NZ).

It is believed to have been popular to sing for the men going off to WW1. 

It's a favourite classic for all us kiwi's ... we're glad you like it.
