  • should i get the intermountain fa7 or should i get a bli ge ac6000 qsi?

  • i searched the web over 4 damn ever trying 2 find a company producing modern day gull wing and comfort cab ge locomotives with sound not dash 8s i mean big ones an finaly found these i love it really nice im jus soooo excited thank u personally 4 showing the overall reamarkable accuracy i work around the real thing daily and this things awesome right even with overland brass models thank u

  • That bell is slower than the Athearn SD70M-2 by the sounds of it, and it sounds more faithful to the prototype. The horns still suck, and remain the biggest letdown of Tsunami decoders, in my opinion, LOL. Nice vid.

  • Apparently, Athearn's factory in China shut down.

  • awesome video! thanks for the review! I've got 4 of these on order. ATSF, 2 x BNSF, 1 x GE Demo. though, the air con vents are below the cab windshields on the sides. :-)

  • Would be awesome if Intermountain would make some IAIS gevo's

  • Awesome review, that engine sounds amazing! Keep the videos coming!

  • GO Navy!

  • Hi James,

Is this a new model that has been recently released. If so , is the sound improved from the

previous AC model? I had heard the sound was quite enemic, even though it was tsunami sound.

  • @rottiuree sound is definitely improved.

  • They got the back headlight wrong for a Es44DC..

  • Thanks for another great review James. I always look forward to your videos and you hit the nail on the head in that Intermountain has released a great product. They are really hard to find with only 1 week after being released and wish I would have pre-ordered more. There is also another run of AC's to be released in the next few months in case some of you missed out. Get them while you can.

  • why are you branching out to eastern railroads?

  • @TheTrainman888 because Norfolk Southern, BNSF, CSX, and KCS are all seen where I live and I model where I live.

  • csx and ns are the only two major railroads with flashing ditchlights

  • Does Atlas make the track w/ concrete ties you have on your RR?

  • @TrainDr101 those are by Peco i believe..one other company fleshiman makes concrete ties but they have ballest roadbed tracks

  • awsome...i'll have to get one or two...i hope my papers come in from my income tax so i can buy them..lol...great review

  • @EMDSD14R yes i am filing my income tax next week and its gonna be on like popcorn,LOL yes this one hot video, true indeed.pretty, and well detailed.

  • @jiggy588 yeah indeed man..yeah i'll be getting my car back at the sametime as my income tax..oh yess indeed i'll be rolling..lol..indeed i planed on getting some intermoutain stuff..i just saw there amtak ex ATSF passenger cars..i got to have them also..lol..yeah i am going with the MRC protegy advance system..i think my bud in this vid uses it..indeed i had the same profile pic for 2 years time to change plus somebody sent me an email using my u tube name/account so i had to fix them also

  • @jiggy588 but all is cool man nobody stole my account..indeed i wanted to have a conrail E44A as my background...lol..well u got the order mixed up a bit but its cool...PRR, PC then CR...oh thts cool i have books on them also

  • @EMDSD14R oh okay yeah i see yeah you right i did got it a little mixed i was typing to fast some time that happen LOL you be typing and then you do not double check LOL how can i have that mixed up LOL but i know forgive me LOL oh okay you got books on them also that's cool also.oh right.but yeah man i was surprised when i saw you had a new back ground,i am gonna change mines tonight.so check it out LOL

  • Anyone know if Intermountain are repairing the lights for people that bought the ES44AC's?

  • how do u figure out when the wheels slip?

  • SWEET

  • Nice video. Do you think Athearn is announcing a GEVO tomorrow?

  • @AllenRockwell No I think they're announcing the GP38-2 in Genesis. That's my guess based on the picture they released of locomotives under a cloth.

  • @jlwii2000 I think the photo is meant to throw us off. I think the usage of the word "Evolution" is the tip off. ... or so I hope.

  • @jlwii2000 it could be their release of the new DDA40X that they showed at some past train shows

  • @jlwii2000 I wonder if they ever will.

  • That is one stunning Loco .. thanks for the review .. Great review

  • You mentioned the HP rating on the two versions.

Does anyone have an online resource for prototypical HP for diesel engines? Looking for the info to simulate on my layout.

  • @MMODoubter: GE HP ratings are easy to figure out: the HP rating is in the model designation. ES44DC- the 44 stands for the 4400 HP. "C40-8W", the 40 is 4000 HP. U36C- the 36 is 3600HP. As for EMD & ALCO, You'll have to find some sort of guide to figure them out. A diesel spotters guide is a good beginning source. I don't of an online source that'll help out w/ that.

  • Awesome Review, can't wait for the 2nd run of the UP units to come out.

  • Lol you got the exact roadnumber I did

  • have you ever heard of a program called jmri decoder pro? it makes the programming of any locomotive so much less of a hastle

  • are those fbox's huberts models?

  • @jmdhintz one is huberts and two are exactrail. Two of the double doors are athearn genesis

  • sure looks good I loved Intermountain es44s but I had a hell of a time trying to get them to MU with any other brand of loco

  • Cool....want one!

  • Intermountain locos are very nice

  • If they would make Iowa Interstate gevos....

  • Awesome!! I received NS 7515 last week. Ill probably do a review on it too. The only thing i dont like about it is the ditchlights dont alternate. But other than that, AMAZING MODEL!!!

  • were can you get those

  • Looks great!!!

  • Nice review. I look forward to getting my NS &CSX versions early next week. Ill probably be rewiring the ditch lights on the NS with a function only decoder or just have the back ones on constant with the rear headlight.

  • Where did you buy your ES40DC at?

  • Very nice video

  • hey james me jeff can you do a review on the athern sd70m-2 thinks.

  • @nw611J Jeff, guess what? Athearn SD70M-2 will be here tomorrow and I will be doing a full review! It should be up Sunday.

  • What's your score out of 10?

It seems very good for 'ready to run'.

  • @gyrusse 9.5 The only thing that kept it from perfection was alternating ditch lights

  • Thanks for the review! Mine was supposed to be into my local hobby shop a couple of weeks ago. I preordered back in August. I'm glad to see that the lighting is okay, but I will be getting a Digitrax decoder with completely custom sounds and some decals (Autostart and warnings) applied. Looking forward to mine!

  • another great review.....noticed the gensets in the backround, ill have to look back in your library for a vid on those...musta missed it.....

  • so did they compromise the light up numberboards for the rear ditchlights? and also did they just use better l.e.d's or did they fix the double resistor problem?

  • @morepassionfoo the numberboards light up but only from the light of the headlight. They fixed the double resistor problem I think
