The Band led by Mr Albert Grossman ..along with the Dead wanted too much money from a failing venture for film rights. Warner Bros saved all the investers azzes.
@Jimala3 From what I have heard in interviews, the Dead were not happy with their performance. Some serious technical issues put them off. That's the supposed reason they did not want to appear in the film. I don't know about The Band though.
@Fropals1 Sounds more like a Liberal. You think Liberalism is the party of "reason"? Lawl. Read some economists who don't subscribe to the phrase "well we're all dead in the end" when facing points from which they cannot rebuttal.
it is sad, but dylan was always about the money. but if there wasn't money in it the world would never have seen many, many beautiful songs penned by mr.dylan. it was his motivation. not the noblest motivation, but motivation nonetheless
doesn't matter if their second album wasn't released - they wrote most of the songs for the first 2 albums around the same time, it was pretty much one project
Yes this is definatley from Woodstock, it has the same feeling as their other's song's . Not sure about the Ain't No More Cane On The Brazo's that's on here is from Woodstock .
This is a very rare version of We Can Talk. Thanks so much for posting. Also incase anyone doesn't know The Band was actually in a very large ammount of footage at Woodstock....good footage too. Sadly The Band decided to take the money instead of being in the film Woodstock.
@LocalRailfan .I was thinking there had to be more footage of the band at woodstock, Ive heard the all the songs but have only seen video for tears of rage and the weight...have you seen more? if so were at?
@LocalRailfan Do you know how many songs of The Band they filmed at Woodstock? We have all seen The Weight and Tears of Rage. It would be amazing to see this and if more was filmed does it still exist and who owns it?
@LocalRailfan all because of their management my man not theBand... well maybe robbie. I love everything about theBand and it blows theyll never get the recognition they deserve, but damn i rambling so now to stop.
These guys had some really magnificent "Tin Pan Alley" chops to them. They were born and raised on that stuff, but they also knew how to create it.

"We could try to reason/ but you might think its treason." Sums up the Tea Party right there.

they executed perfectly, it's a wonder they dropped this from their live performance. The singing blended better than the studio version?

Thanks for posting, very interesting recording. The vocals are awesome. Notice....nobody plays an instrumental solo, a true "band".
