the flicker flicker of the distorted 303 lines just sends my brain into meltdown. I remember hearing this at Knowledge at the SW1 club and my brain became a river flowing to the speakers. great slab of acid
He owned "Energy Flash" when he made this re-do!! Too true! This is one of the top-10 techno tracks EVER, if ya ask me. OldSkool raver here, I was already 21 when this came out and best believe I was in every warehouse and underground club I could put myself in, all through the mid-90's heydaze. Thanks for posting!! This is that HEAVY HEAVY MONSTER sound, only for the headstrong! Ahhhh man I miss those daze!!
If you like this, listen to "Lost In A Silver Box" by Hardfloor. I always wanted to hear them mixed together for pure acid craziness but never got to :(
This is not Trance It's Techno.See that's where the confusion came. When Techno sounded like this in the early 90s and Trance became a genre the confusion came. They both had that oonts oonts beat but Trance was more melodic.Everyone knows this is Techno xD What the hell happened to Techno it sounds like crap these days with it's minimal drums where is the oonts oonts in techno?
At that time he was a VERY different Ritchie, those days with Warp should stayed forever, but then he decided to make a strange fashionist minimal change.
@dhhs91 wtf u talkin about. IV SEEN PLASTIKMAN!!! he has only started makin tracks again under this name in past 2 years.
this style of minimal ur listening to on this video is NOT the minimal of todays genre, clearly u know nothing about electronic music history or the music in general
@eleven38 Someone's a little bit angry. Artifakts, DE9 Transitions, Plastikman, F.U.S.E., Richie Hawtin.. They're all good.
And why do you assume I "know nothing about electronic music history or the music in general"? I know more about music than lots of people. I have classical training and been studying music for well over a decade.
And I recognize this style of minimal.
Just to make things clear, what part of Richie's music you don't like?
WOW!!! One of my favorites from my beginning of the house saga.... We had an illegal radiostation, and everytime the DJ's played this record... If you played this from a record, what a great sound still.. I only have this one on a cd... Tnx for bringing great memories back to me!!!
It sounds fresh, because it is one of the finest techno productions ever made. Real techno classics are timeless and will never sound outdated.
Jeff Mills - The Bells, Mike Dearborn - Birds on E, Mescalinum United - We have arrived, DJ Hell - Hot on the heels of love (Dave Clarke RMX), Emmanuel Top - Turkish Bazar, Laurent Garnier - Acid Eiffel etc. These are examples of tunes which will never sound outdated. They are perfect in sound and structure and can be played untill the end of time.
I had this CD Welcome to the Future back in 1993. The songs were awesome & timeless. Thanks SUTT1975 for putting this on YT. I also had the Welcome to the Future Vol 2. Both Vols are hard to find. I want to rip them as MP3's for my iPod

Have you ever noticed what happens at 3:03? OVERDOSE!!!
Bit of humour in there too.
