  • If you read the Bible, like you said that you have, you be able to see all of His prophecies unfolding! There are so many proofs that God exists! What about the true finding of, Sodem and Gommorah, the Ark, Jericho, and other geological findings that prove the Bible and its Truth?? I dare you to research the Bible and the Geological findings that prove the Bible's Truth and God's existence! God is real! No questions asked! I've felt His presence and know He exists!

  • @Tebbs31 Which prophecies specifically are being fulfilled? We know Jericho exists. People live there. Sodom and Gomorrah have never been found. They never existed. I have felt the presence of Vishnu, so I guess he exists too.

  • @BlueSpirals Sodom and Gomorrah has been found bub... I believed i asked you to do the research! And there are many prophecies! Such as the one that is happening right now! The Bible says that in the end times that the Earth will cry out! Its crying out right now! All these storms and earthquakes! Why don't you research the prophecies? Why do i have to be your crutch?? You want to know if the Lord exists??? You want to know He is the one and only?? Research a little! Do your homework!

  • @Tebbs31 Yeah, I went to my university library and found several historians stating they have not been found, but that Christians will consider nearly any pottery discovered in that area as evidence of the city. I also found ONLY christian websiites online stating the cities have been found, and not a single peer-reviewed essay or dissertation or university website claiming they've been found. That's pretty safely identifiable as total bullshit.

  • Like i said before tho... God is a gentleman... He doesn't force Himself upon you, you have to accept Him! If you believe not of Him... And reject Him... He will also reject you on judgement day... As your Holy Father, He wants to be accepted of you! He wants you ro love Him as He loves you! Just trying to break it down a little for ya...!

  • @Tebbs31 The earth has always had tornadoes and earthquakes, these arent new developments. Nothing is happening right now that wasnt happening back then. There is no indication that any apocalypse is imminent. And at this point I feel like you're a troll and not a real christian.

  • When you let the tricks of the devil derive some of the questions which you have brought up, you have fallen made yourself vulnerable to disbelief of God... God is real, all knowing, He is everywhere, He knows the intent of every persons heart, and He is the Almighty! My friend... You will never understand God's ways... You may never understand why God wants you to pray... But just knowing that He is who He says he is should put peace in your life knowing that you have a God who is sooo powerfu

  • God is so beyond our understanding and we need to take that into consideration! How great is this God?? If He is soo great that He can create the very being of light, earth, and the universe, then why should i question His power and His plan?? I'm walking and trusting the Lord's plan rather than questioning it...

  • I am going to leave it at this.. Neither you, nor anyone can conceive God's plans, why He does certain things, or who He is! Our ways are not His ways, our thoughts are not His thoughts, and we are none like Him! I can not describe why God does certain thongs and why He doesn't do other things...

  • @Tebbs31 Nobody can even conceive of god, obviously, since there is no evidence to suggest he even exists. Before you can convince me that I cannot understand god, you need to convince me he exists. You havent done that. I also dont believe in the devil, so, i dont subscribe to that description of myself.

  • See... here is your own problem... you refuse to read the Bible... you refuse to give another, in your words, "holy book" Except the Bible isn't just another "holy book" It is God's Holy Word! To answer your question, God blessed us with choice and wants to give us the desires of our heart! God is a gentleman... He is not going to give you something you won't accept! For example... you don't understand this concept right?? If you really want understanding, pray for it! Read the Bible!

  • @Tebbs31 I have stated multiple times in my videos that I have read the koran and the bible in their entirety. I once had Crohn's disease and didn't accept that. God seems to have given me that without my acceptance. And you still have not answered my question- what is the purpose of prayer? I bet you didn't even watch this video, because I addressed what you're saying. And I really enjoy how you are so fervently positive that the bible is more correct than any other random holy book.

  • @BlueSpirals If you read the Bible entirely you would understand why we pray to God! I did listen to the video, and God does have a plan! The Bible is God's Word, therefore, yes i believe it more than any other! God loves you, you should know that much! He has a plan for you, but you have to accept that plan! God has things that he wants to give you that you might not accept fully from God. However, God will not give you something that He knows you can't handle...

  • @Tebbs31 I have read the bible ENTIRELY. I had to do it for college. The koran says exactly the same garbage as the bible, yet you chose one over the other for no reason you can explain.

  • @BlueSpirals Okay... So if the Koran and the Bible are garbage... Why do you care so much?? You don't care! The reason you understand none of this is because you reject God, and you reject His understanding... He does want to give you what you want! However, we we born sinful... We may want things that are not of God! Therefore He will not give it to us! God wants to give you His plan! Specifically!! He will only give you His blessings!

  • @Tebbs31 I care because billions of people take the bible and koran literally, and kill each other over it. I appear to be arguing with a 14 year old at this point. I do not reject god, I simply am not convinced he exists. There is no sufficient evidence to convince me that any god exists- especially your god.

  • God requires a personal relationship with you! He knows what you want, He has given you the choice whether you wish to go to Him and pray for what you want or not to! He wants to know you BlueSpirals! He wants you to talk to Him and become a part of who He is! Not all prayers are answered because in our sinfulness, we sometimes pray for wrongful things! God will not stray from His plan to answer sin (Sinful prayers). However, He loves you enough to give you His promises and blessings!

  • @Tebbs31 Oh? God doesn't already know me? There is no relationship a human being can have that would benefit an allegedly omnipotent, omniscient deity. You still don't seem to be able to address my question in conjunction with my video. How can god WANT you to pray when he knows with infallible certainty that you either will or will not? Is god unsure about whether you'll change your mind? The more you describe god to me, the more he sounds like a human, invented by other humans.

  • I learned throughout my walk with the Lord that sometimes what we "desire" really isn't what our true self desires! I never really knew what i really wanted in life until i fully gave all of me to the Lord! I gave myself through prayer and supplication to my God! What you desire and pray about, sometimes may not be what you really want! I have wanted to be rich all my life, until i found the Lord! Then i realized that my riches on this earth are nothing and lost that sinful desire!

  • I found that my God has much more riches for me in heaven than i will ever have on this Earth! I'll be with my Lord! That is worth more than any riches can buy!

  • Prayer is not about you tho... It is about God! He wants you to talk to Him and that is what we call prayer... In another video that you posted about the proof that God exists, you state that you have a personal relationship with God, therefore, you should know who He is and why we pray to Him. To your question about... "God helps those who help themselves" God wants to help you, yes! However, if you are unwilling to go to the "doctor" (God) then He can't help you! continue in next message

  • @Tebbs31 You still are not addressing the question, "What is the purpose of prayer?" I'm talking specifically about petitioning god. Why do you do it, given the explanations I give in my video?

  • Soooo! God can only help you if you go to Him an accept His guidance/ His healing/ or whatever it is that you need help with! God isn't going to just force His blessings on you... He wants to know that you know that He is all sufficient and all knowing! He wants you to come to Him! He wants a personal relationship with you! He wants to teach you! That is another reason we read our Bible and talk to God about His Word, so that he will give us understanding of His Word! ... continue...

  • If you still don't understand petitioning God... Here... God wants to give you His blessing and the desires of your heart. He wants to give you all that He can! BUT, at the same time, He doesn't want to give you something that may make you stray away from Him or give you something that He knows you can't handle.... He has a plan... and he has an appointed time for every man to which he/she will pass and die... However, we should look to death as another blessing! continue...

  • @Tebbs31 God obviously doesnt want to give people what they desire because not all prayers are answered. Why would god ever deviate from his plan to give you something he had not already given you? Why would he require that you pray, knowing with infallible certainty that you'd pray for something? It is a logical conundrum.

  • Death releases us from this physical and brings us to heaven, if you live according to His Word and keep His commandments!! I could go on and on... but i'll stop there for now... lol

  • Your thinking too hard

  • @ChairSpinnin I think really hard for all the people who don't think enough to know the difference between "your" and "you're". People like you.

  • Every time i watch one of your videos u give so many reasons for me to be atheist...i would be a christian but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me... I am not very good about giving reasons for my atheism so i send them to your video's.

  • I would also like to say that they saying "God helps them that help themselves" is

not in the Bible. I think people people got that from the scripture that says " Faith without works is dead" meaning that you can't expect God to give you a job that you haven't gotten your lazy but out of bed and applied for. Of course if you're dying from cancer you can't do anything about that. That's not a situation you can help. God is wise!

  • @greenblue49 So god killed 25 million people with bubonic plague, 75 million with aids, millions with SIDS, millions with dysentery, millions with cancer...because they earned it?

  • @BlueSpirals I'm not understand what this response means. What do you mean by earned it?

  • There are so many comments on here that make me believe that no one has ever picked up a bible and read it for themselves. Before you make a decision about the existance or non-existance of God, I recommend that you do read at least a chapter. Read any chapter. Even if at the end of the day there is still doubt at least you learned something new ( to you anyway) and quite interesting!

  • @greenblue49 You should take your own advice, except read the Koran instead. Why specifically does it have to be the bible and not any other holy book?

  • @BlueSpirals the purpose of prayer what I believe could be it is to give thanks to the Lord people mostly pray to give thanks or to ask for things of couse to ur eye praying must be stupid :)

  • @Yourbabystar okay, then you obviously did not watch my video, because that's not the question I am asking.

  • @BlueSpirals Forget it ok i dont have time for any of this I don't get y u talk about all this when people already know about it maybe u get some kinda kick out of it idk ur complicated ps not trying to mean just a little annoyed >_>;

  • That so stupid 1 day u just wanted to know what the purpose of praying is

  • @Yourbabystar Yes, I have been wanting to know what the purpose of prayer is. Watch my video and answer my question.

  • @BlueSpirals no it's just u say all this hate for god and religion people y can't u just leave what we do alone how hard is that wat do u get out of all this talking? Do u want every1 to be come atheist is that wat ur aiming for?

  • @Yourbabystar No, I dont want everyone to become atheist, I want to know the purpose of prayer. If you cannot answer my question, do not post here.

  • @coopersnoop did it ever cross ur mind that maybe it was time for ur dad to go I mean no1 lives forever

  • @Yourbabystar Are you chastising me for seeking knowledge?

  • Not trying to be rude or anything but y do u care what the purpose of pray is I mean u said ur a atheist y do care what us Religion people do I mean u seem to have this hate for the Lord then quit talking about wat he does or what us religion people do ps not trying to be rude :3

  • @Yourbabystar That was not nearly a coherent sentence and I don't even know what you are talking about.

  • I'm going to marry you one day. Swear to god, you're probably the only person on the face of the earth with more the 3 and a half brain cells.

  • @MarcyPhelps oh there are many people far smarter than i; that is where i learned everything i know from!

  • short answer there is no point.

    Cheers Christine

  • If he really is there, he'd say like "get your butt off that couch and work for it! asking me wont get you that promotion!" that is if he is the all knowing and loving that he proves to be

  • The purpose of prayer is to make stupid people feel better about what they have no control over, and to discourage then from seeking more control and thereby upsetting the balance of power.

I once heard a coworker explain that prayer had gotten her son into an exclusive private school. She would, I think, be appalled to think that God screwed over more qualified (and more devout) applicants in her favor, but that is literally what she believed.

P.S. Homeopaths can only cure the healthy.

  • Thats a very good question, and Christians can't answere it honestly.

  • Sorry your getting sick .. perhaps you should 'pray' about it. ;)

7 Years ago My Dad passed on and I watched for days in the hospital as My very religious family prayed for Him to live. Well He died. It was at that moment I started to wake up and see the God is not real ... but all in our heads.

  • @coopersnoop the belief in god is comforting, and helps us deal with personal tragedy. but, just because something feels good does not make it real, or right. sorry for your loss.

  • A doctor who only sees healthy people and still charges them. I like that. The "helps those who help themselves" adage always annoyed me.

You make some good points. Moses certainly seems to have been able to change the Creator's mind, but learned religious Jews would probably say that the Creator's mind cannot be changed, and that this is an "anthropomorphism".

I can tell you that I have long since stopped praying about some things that I never received.

  • What is the purpose of "Lucky Horseshoes?"

  • @buckfushes At least we know horse shoes exist

  • You might want to let your Christian friend know that "God helps those who help themselves" is a quotation from an article by Algernon Sydney called "Discourses Concerning Government" and made popular by Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanack," not a quote from the Bible. I've actually seen several Christian sites lamblast the saying because to them it implies that people can help themselves apart from God.

  • First of all I'm not a Christian but I can see how christians percieve prayer. It would be in God's plan for one to pray and recieve the gifts the gifts of prayer. Just as it would be in God's plan to give me a million dollars on the lottery, I still have to buy the ticket or I won't win. And I'm sure christians even realize god's a bit of a douche so they have to ask him for something first or he won't give it to them

  • @Ichiboy900 So why are people encouraged to pray, if god has already laid out a future for that person, and knows when, if ever, they actually pray?

  • @BlueSpirals Well people are still encourage to go to Church and become christian even though god already knows that they are destined to go to hell or heaven.

That's the main problem is that God already knows what's going to happen to us since the beginning so they're basically saying God just made some people to watch them burn because he's a sadist

  • @Ichiboy900 so what is the point of evangelism if people are already predestined to be religious or non religious?

  • @BlueSpirals To be honest I don't think they really care about our souls they just can't stand the fact that everyone in the world doesn't live like they do so they just try and force it on everyone

  • @BlueSpirals They aren't!

  • @Ichiboy900 Not at all. I don't want to offen anyone on this post but I want to know if anybody has actually read the bible for themselves. So many times people a bashed by so-called christians with information that isn't true at all. It's sad but their bad expierences affect the way they think about all christians.

  • @greenblue49 I've probably read more of the bible than you, which is why I don't believe it.

  • @BlueSpirals I'm not asking you to believe it and maybe you have read more than I have. I'm reffering to the people who are basically making up scriptures that you can't find in the bible. Or people that are picking out a few words and thinking that they know what it means when to fully understand it you have to read at least the whole chapter surrounding it and maybe more than that. Thanks for your response. I love these discussions!

  • @BlueSpirals God has not laid out a future for anybody. God gives you a choice (freewill)! But he knows which choices you are going to make before you make them.

Ex: God- "You can go to a Tigers, Lions, Pistons, or Redwings game." You- "Ummmm.............................." God- ( I don't know what's taking him so long. He's gonna see the Tigers play, buy two hot dogs, a coke, and a bag of cotton candy!)

You- " I'll take those Tigers tickets, please!"

  • @Ichiboy900 "And I'm sure christians even realize god's a bit of a douche so they have to ask him for something first or he won't give it to them."

That's not true. There are plenty of times when you haven't asked for something, like a raise, for the mortgage company to call you back and say they don't have any records of an outstanding debt from you, and GOD has saw fit to bless you with them. All good things come from GOD!

  • @greenblue49 Where is your evidence for this claim?

  • you cannot petition the lord with prayer

  • @Nibielari continue to explain?

  • @BlueSpirals from the doors, the soft parade, sorry just popped into my head when i was watching the video. but yes i agree god's plan and prayer seem contradictory
