@xxxkyle01xxx The designs are photographically transferred to the screen by way of coating the mesh with a light sensitive emulsion. Film positives are then used to expose the screens to make the stencil for printing. Check out my website and video upload collection for more videos and information on how the process works. See the YouTube channel page for the website link. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
So I am using a similar/same contraption (Sherlock) I got used and its great but I gotta ask, what the heck is that side piece for? Flat on one side two channeled looking thing? My best guess was a mesh roll holder? Dumb question I'm sure but... LOL anyways, as always great vids! Thanks Jay
@WESTCOASTKING76 LOL, no not a dumb question at all. The square rig is part of the jig for the roller frames with square rear frame bars for rear mount print head clamps. It’s called an mzx or something but they are made with one square bare on one of the short sides of the frame. Then you use that square bar to lock it into a rear mount print head. That is what the square rigging is for. Glad you like the videos. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
I heard in a NEWMAN ROLLER FRAME demo that it is very important to keep mesh as straight as possible before tighten it up to the frame. They got a straight edge after tearing the mesh.. I hope you understand what I 'm saying. Can you please explain the reasons for that and is it possible to get a straight edge by tearing the mesh.
@wazupsam I don’t know about tearing the mesh but it is true you want to keep the mesh openings parallel to the frame edges. The idea is to line up the square mesh openings so that the fabric strands are parallel to the frame edge on any side. It can be difficult to achieve at times but will improve stencil and mesh performance in many ways. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
@TesterCustoms Yes, I am. I actually have tried to do it twice already but the adhesive I was given to do it with was bad and ruined both attempts. I am just waiting for a new donation of adhesive to try again. I don’t stretch screens myself in house very often so I don’t have the adhesive and I try not to spend money to make videos. That can get expensive fast. I will eventually do it and post it to YouTube. Please be patient and stay tuned! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hahaha...was looking around for aluminum screens and discovered roller frames. I was looking around for a good description and guess what...your video came up :D!! Glad i subscribed as well!
@siscoslim LOL… I hear you. This is really intended for high volume shops, not the home printer or even the start up printer. You would only benefit from this system if you make a lot of screens and/or need to be able to teach screen stretching in 5 minutes to anyone. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you very much! Make sure to check out the website too. Lots of cool free screen printing information there as well. Link is on the channel page. Thanks for watching and commenting!
any suggestion on emulsion and other chemicals and wear do you buy the long wood and tips for squeegiesalso looking for new used equipment to get the ball rolling in screen printing thanks rob

i built a 4 color printing press and a screen cure unit but i'm having issues with print seperations to burn on to screen using cap film and an inkjet printer the video's you do are awsome i'm a college student trying to get started thanks
You may want to try to use a direct, dual cure emulsion. It will be more forgiving with poor film and incorrect exposures. Good luck and feel free to ask questions anytime. Thanks for watching!
I meant can you show how to stretch a roller frame without the jig. Like flat on a table using cardboad pieces. Not using it for smaller wood frames as a jig.
Yes, I understood what you meant and like I said, I will show how to stretch a roller frame without the jig. We will stretch an oversized roller frame by hand, without the fancy jig and then we will use that oversized, stretched roller frame to make 2 smaller wood or metal frames. So you will get to see how to stretch a roller frame by hand with wrenches. That will be the first part of the video. Then I will show how to transfer that stretched mesh on the roller frame to 2 smaller wood frames.
LOL Yes, of course. As I mentioned in the video, I do plan on doing a video which will demonstrate how to use an oversized roller frame to stretch smaller metal frames. In that video we will stretch the roller frame by hand on the table. It is in the works. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
LOL Yes, I buy my aluminum static frames pre-stretched as well. But this unit is useful for some of my other applications. I dont use it often and it is mostly used as a demo unit for customers. Thanks for the comment!
LOL Actually no, it is not new. I just take very good care of it. I dont use it often and it is mostly used as a demo unit for customers. Thanks for the comment!
excuse me sir, i would like to ask if how to put designs on the screen?..thanks:)
