  • Tasty ones, in case they're not good at hunting truffles.

  • Islam

It is narrated in the hadith Sahih Muslim that Islamic prophet Muhammad said "Truffles are 'Manna' which Allah, sent to the people of Israel through [Moses], and its juice is a medicine for the eyes." Terfezia was the main truffle consumed in the Middle East historically, and Ludovico di Varthema, in his Travels (1503-08), wrote of great quantities of them being sold, having been harvested in the mountains of Armenia and Turkey.

  • hi . I want to have a plantation like this. how it's possible? I need some help and advice. please

  • it all depends on your climate and soil structure

    use google

  • you need to innoculate the hazelnut trees with truffle's spore.... it is a fungus..... the secret is well guarded.... you can still buy the secret (or the techniques).... that's what the australian are doing.... they did a lot of research over 20 yrs and then: bingo! now truffles are farmed in tasmania, New south wales, and western australia.... the farmers all bought the secrets.....

  • @eleuk1

I know how to do it, i´m harvesting right now... watch videos i my account.

  • Wow, i never knew truffles also grew in Australia. i always thought it only grew in Italy.

  • This is quite clearly a plantation and not wild woodland. How old are the trees and are they oaks?

  • There are no wild french Black Truffle forests in Australia, you'll need to go to the dordogne district of France for that.

This footage was shot in a few different French Black Truffle plantations around the Southern Tablelands around Goldburn NSW

Thr trees are 3 - 4 year old Oaks and Hazelnuts supplied by Perigord Tasmania

  • Thanks. I just went out today for the first time in my local woodland to look for any signs of truffles (North West England) and ofcourse I saw nothing. I scratched around a few oak trees and tried to identify some hazel but there seemed only to be silver birch, beech and sycamore. Don you have any tips?
