hey i fish in a saltwater bayou called buffalo bayou in houston, texas. I have some spoons i use on a fly rod but i want to know what would be some good bait to use with a regular rod for redfish. when i use my castnet I find mullet, shrimp, crab, and these tiny fishes, i dont know what they are called but there silver and their heads are kinda square shaped and they have a very small tail. and where do i locate them? its kinda swampy, so do i cast into the vegatation and flooded trees?

yeah i live in slidell louisiana and lake ponchatrain and lake catherine are the best for speckled trout and redfish

Thanks, yes we had a great time. We ended up with 100 specks and 7 redfish between 4 of us. We probably caught about 60 more specks that were not keepers.

All fish that we kept were legal. We were with a fishing guide & he made sure they were all keeper size. It was hard to keep up with the fishing and snap pictures too. I took a picture of this one because it had perfect color & features. The bull reds were all plain & ugly.
