Atlanta is the busiest because of connections...The O/D is quite a bit less than connecting when the tally is in..If your looking for jumbo jets from all the great carriers of the world you will be let down..Atlanta only has 6 foreign airlines offering passenger service...Thats pathetic for a "international" airport.

My first time ever flying alone (not that it matters, but you can get kind of confused when you don't have anyone to chat with if anything goes wrong) and also my first time in the states, i landed at Hartsfield in Atlanta. And it was the christmas rush of 2007 (Dec 18th)... A lot of planes and people, but a great airport anyways. Although they lost my bag and it took four hours for them to find it again... =)

If Chicago did not have flight cap restrictions imposed by the FAA then O'Hare would clobber and surpass Atlanta as the world's busiest airport immediately. Remember, Chicago has two very big airports, O'Hare and Midway because O'Hare cannot accomodate all of Chicago's air traffic. Compare those to Atlanta's only airport, Hartsfield-Jackson.

Love Delta, but give AirTran credit, whether you like them or not. The service provided by AirTran represents 20% of ATL's total, which is significant. AirTran is ATL's Southwest. There is no room for Southwest at the World's Busiest Airport, at least not currently.

Haven't traveled through the airport in about 8-months, but I thought it was looking incredibly good at that time. And work was still ongoing, so I suspect it looks even better now.

Good video, too bad after the last 5 times I flew through there, it was constantly a horrible experience, including flying on AirTran (my first mistake).

That place needs some housekeeping and the employees need an attitude check.

Well you have to remember you are going through the busiest airport in the world,so everything is not going to be perfect, and second AirTran is a VERY bad mistake.

@notdatelinenbc If you want an "get-away airlines" fly Allegiant. I flew G4(Allegiant) from LEX-Clear Water and I liked it. Then I flew Airtran from LEX-Orlando and it was OK. Not like Allegiant.

Atlanta is a popular city and the new runday and control tower was big pay off for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport now its airplane heaven and plus its more popular then JFK and O'Hare put togather.
