How long does it take to get used to this game and be able to get used to the controls and stuff?

well...i don't have a joystick as most people play this game does, so that probably made it harder for me to get used to the keyboard control, but it actually took me over a week to actually figure out how to land smoothly or during crosswind etc. But if you got rudder pedals and joystick, it should take much lesser time than that

how did you understand where to go? How to land and perfect things?

ummmm....what do u mean perfect things? make a flight plan will tell you where to go, IFR plan will have ATC tell you when to turn and when to descend or climb. and ILS landing will automatically land the plane with runway, all you have 2 do is to land it when it's perfectly lined up.

it depends a lot on the actual computer specs you got.. like graphic card, CPU, memory etc. But i never heard of running the game on external hard drive..

external hardrive is also slower at transferring data than a hardrive.
