Your not suppose to lean in your barrels!@ It makes the horse unbalanced and also you become unbalance with it. Second you don't have to loosen your reins if you don't want to. And your not even suppose to run a three year old in barrels. They have to be five until there bines fuse togeather correctly because youcan just cause them more injury. Another thing, if you don't have control you aren't going to win!

your horse is bomb, but you really need to sit down into your turns, your body is kind of all over the place... I guess that comes from being a hunter jumper and riding english. Try lowering your stirrups a notch or two so you wont sit so forward.

It was really a response to the suggestion that you might try it without the whip. Your answer indicated that you have already looked at various ways and come to the same conclusion as I have: sometimes the whip is helpful and usually the rider is in the best position to decide if it is needed. It's also nice for me to know I'm not the only one who uses a whip occasionally.

you can whip the horse in real horse shows. I have been to the All American and i wipped my horse and i didn't get kicked out. And that was at a local horse show becasue i was there with her!!!!

wow ur really good. i do barrel racing too, along with neck reining and pole bending. i havn't done much barrel racing lately because i just recently had a bad accident where the horse was at a gallop and wouldn't stop and ran into a metal gate and i fell off, and well...i was REALLY scared to gallop after that and i still am.

Nah, the mare I have is extremely green. I need to put a good foundation on her first so I can get more effective results when we begin barrels =] Shes gona take a couple more years, but shes gotten so far this past year and shes definitely worth it.
