OMG! I was fucking blown away when I first heard Steve Vai play to F.Z.'s vocal, but I never imagined someone could do both at the same time.

Love Mike and all, but what I'd really love to hear / see is less of a literal, Zany, Weird Al (and yes, love Al) cover of this tune, but a mock 60's, "serious" black & white jazz video as if Miles or Monk had originally done this tune. Serious Jazz Cats in suits with Ray-Bans and Italian shoes doing this note-for-note would be transcendent.

1. Zappa improvised the original vocal onstage

2. His vocal was transcribed, and master bass player Arthur Barrow learned it

3. Barrow's bass was mixed with the vocal on the album Man From Utopia

4. Keneally learned to play it on bass and sing it simultaneously and exactly.

Because that is how badass Mike Keneally is.

Re: the music - I guess this is where the slightly more tame "Beautiful" came from, on the Sluggo! album.

The original of this song was just Zappa providing dialogue with Steve Vai playing everything Zappa said in unison on his acoustic guitar a feat I deemed impossible to pull off live but Keneally proved me wrong here.
