  • about the last flower you showed..... you can spray it with a fabric stiffening spray, scrunch it and dry with a heat gun. then it wont peel and will stay in shape :) i have big shit die cut that does that flower in a few sizes i lot it.

  • If you sew the zig-zags and buttons on first, how do you fill the bags? I do think this is really cute though. We're coming up on Halloween [Samhain] and I can just see making this with orange material and using black zig-zags as handles to make a small candy bag. Thanks for tutorial.

  • hey there, the fabric bundled is called layer cakes. They have Layer Cake bundles, charm packets and jelly rolls :)

  • lovely tutorial. Did you ever try hot glue gun? I like using them to stick button to flowers.Where do you buy the layer cakes? Im in the UK anyway so would this be in habadashery(SP) shops?

  • hot glue gun...good idea. I get my layer cakes at our local quilt shop or an online fabric store. check out fat quarter shop.

  • I think you could also use those iron seems to make the bag for those of us who don't sew like me but I love the idea and it looks wonderful.

  • Turn your needles side ways. You can sew right up to the needles before removing it. LOVE THIS

  • Layer cakes can also be called Fat Quarters. They are mainly for quilters.

  • Fat Quarters are larger. They usually measure 18 x 21.
