  • This was amazing with only 13 pieces. I am not a classical officianado, but I saw this piece performed by the Cadets of Bergen County back in 1987. I know, it's drum and bugle, but they performed and won. Copeland was brilliant and you did him more than justice. damn good!

  • Its simply amazing at 2:36 to 3:07 ... I wish they would carry that part out longer!! Great job though!!

  • Brilliant... just brilliant rendition. Ty so much. As a movie musical score afficionado, it is interesting that Copeland was my favorite composer's mentor ---- Bernard Herrmann.

Ty again for this wonderful experience.

  • PW, I love the engaged orchestra--in no small part, thanks to you.

  • this was a very good piece i like how it is together and it is not all over the place i like how it stays together if you like this piece give a comment on it because it is a very very very good piece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you all for reading this!!!!!

  • I had to turn the monitors down 25% to limit the distortion, otherwise you have an incredible piece of ameriana here, well done, BRAVO!

  • stunning

  • I really love this!

  • Beautiful. "Sparkling" performance by all. Love the "unmuddied" original score by Copland. The sheer simplicity and honesty of the last section (starting at 3:15) always brings tears to my eyes. Do you have a recording of the rest of the work that you could post?

  • I always prefer the more stripped down, original version intended for Martha Graham. Fantastic! Even with the so-so audio, this is a superb performance!

  • HERE HERE! Oh,yes,quite indeed.OOH! Jolly good!!!

  • Listening to this piece is a requirement for my class, however, I had just heard several pieces, but this is by far the most beautiful. Thank you for this wonderful experience. Continue to share your talents with beginners like me who will be able to appreciate all aspects of music.

  • LOL me too.

  • Very nicely done. Moderato-Coda is one of the most melodic and harmonious pieces of music available, rivaling Beethoven's 7th - Allegretto for emotion. You do a great job of playing at a good pace and putting your emotion into the music - it comes through. Thanks for doing this with the instruments you have listed - it is a fresh (for me) look at what is arguably the U.S.'s greatest home-cooked musical accomplishment.

  • I have the version where Copeland conducts, and I enjoy this version just as much. Excellent!

  • No oboe, just the original instrumentation: flute, clarinet, bassoon, piano, 4 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, & 1 bass.

Thanks again for all those who have left kind remarks! -PW

  • Do I hear an oboe? :)

  • lovely :) . . .

  • i hope 2 see u sooN!

you're all a bunch of idiots. stop argueing. 2L

  • This "interpretation" has a lot of mood and anticipates the energy of Copland.

Thank you very much for this - it is a pleasure listening it

  • i take private lessons for my viola and i have to play this its beautiful.

  • this is my ballet song this year!

    its so beautiful

    niceley donee :}

  • I just saw someone compose that song a few hours ago with like 50 ppl

  • @koreanboy9 I'm so confused by what you're saying.

  • This is supurb! Excellent.

  • BRAVO with a STANDING OVATION!!!

  • Thank you. You are very kind.

    -PW

  • I love this piece! Thank you Copland for composing it!

  • Just heard this for the first time a few minutes ago on radio. I was outside under the stars enjoying a nice candela wrappered cigar and the combination made for a very relaxing time. What a lovely and marvelous little song. Very nice Mr. Wilson. BRAVO!

  • I love this from 3:08 and on. Beautiful!!!

  • Me, too. Especially at 4:49!

  • try the SONG [with words] called simple gifts

  • Same here, 3:08 - 4:49, in part because Graham's ballet is so poignant in this section.

  • que delicia... me gustó mucho mucho mucho

  • nice work!,,,,,,,,,the first time I ever heard this was in 79 ? it was the theme song to a CBS show called "the chisholms"

  • Really nice performance!

  • Amazing piece of music! It truly makes you want to dance with all your heart and soul!

  • I agree that it is great music...but it is NOT something to make you want to dance. lol

  • Copland was and is a GIANT; He boldly captures a large portion of the American spirit within his music. Thanks for posting this vid!

  • Nice...><

  • Copland makes my day so much cheerier. Thank you.
