The judge considered some of the things he said as balancing on the verge of incitement to hatred (which is a crime and not just in the Netherlands) and at any rate as clearly coarse and offensive (which isn't a crime), but said that the statements were made in the context of a political debate and one should be able to speak out.

Yes, it is true the other two religions are not causing as much damage but Christianity is the most violent of the three from its doctrines. However both C and J were affected by the enlightenment, which forced a reinterpretation of the texts in a non-literal manner. Islam did not have an Enlightenment, though I would argue that in the M.East it is starting now.

The judge considered some of the things he said as balancing on the verge of incitement to hatred (which is a crime and not just in the Netherlands) and at any rate as clearly coarse and offensive (which isn't a crime), but said that the statements were made in the context of a political debate and one should be able to speak out.

His party is skeptical of climate change, is for retreating from many international responsibilities, for spending cuts on culture and education. Being a dick is not illegal, and he's entitled to be one. But he really is a dick, and not just because of his statements about Islam.

Most folk here in the cities (like the undersigned) who share their neighbourhoods with Muslims and people of North-African descent do not vote for Wilders: the overwhelming majority of his voters are from the rather traditional small-town south of the country, where many people probably haven't seen a muslim in their lifetime. @TheRockZH Voting percentages are registered per neighbourhood here so no it's not a hunch, it's fact. I was exaggerating, but only slightly. There are some (not many) Muslims in the south of the Netherlands; there are some (not many) Wilders voters in the big cities. Nonetheless there is a clear inverse relationship between the percentage of Wilders-voters and the number of muslims in an area. So the whole 'the elite leftie voters don't know what they're talking about'-argument doesn't fly.
